Member Roash Posted June 29, 2022 Member Report Share Posted June 29, 2022 (edited) I recently updated 3d coat, and I can't find anymore in Geometry->Use CUDA and CUDA boost. Is it default or its been removed? I would like to use at best my 3060ti for smooth sculpting. And multicore optimization refers to logical or physical cores? Any tips to improve perfomance? I have ryzen 2600 32gb ram, nvme ssd and 3060ti Edited June 29, 2022 by Roash
Carlosan
Hi Hope this help On 5/23/2022 at 8:46 PM, AbnRanger said: Andrew dropped CUDA, and 3DCoat now uses the GPU to accelerate brushes that were too sluggish using CPU multi-threading. Voxel SMOOTH, GROW and FILL brushes are the 3 for now, that have it. More may be added in the near future...but those were the most problematic ones. Member Roash Posted June 29, 2022 Author Member Report Share Posted June 29, 2022 Maybe I miss something but isn’t Cuda a feature of nvidia gpu? So 3d coat won’t use it but still use gpu for computing brushes ?
Carlosan
Version 2022 has only one Graphic Mode: GL (OpenGL). 3DC now use OpenGL acceleration, you may notice in the Geometry Menu Cuda support is no longer an available option it has been discontinued primarily because it has required the use of an nVidia card. Exclusively openGL on the other hand is graphic card agnostic: you can use both AMD or nVidia cards in order to take advantage of this new GPU acceleration.
