Member Jakejazz Posted July 22, 2022 Member Share Posted July 22, 2022 Hello all. I am 3/4 of the way into a character retopology. It is my first use of 3D Coat. As I have been working, the points of the retopology mesh have become distant from the surface, so that the new mesh will be inaccurate. Is there a tool that I can use to snap the points of the new mesh onto the surface? Many thanks. Jake
Carlosan
Hi Try activating autosnap The option is in the upper medium zone of viewport.
Member Jakejazz Posted July 23, 2022 Author Member Share Posted July 23, 2022 Thanks Carlosan. That's certainly good to know. I will have that on from the start in future. I wondered if there was a way of re aligning work that I have already done? I would imagine that as you work out a good topology, there will always be areas that sink into or stand above the surface. To correct this, I have been deleting polygons and then recreating them but this workaround is a bit labour intensive. Cheers. Jake
Carlosan
Using Tweak > Move tool or Brush tool, you can tweak edges/vertices. Hope it help
Member Jakejazz Posted July 26, 2022 Author Member Share Posted July 26, 2022 Thanks very much. I belatedly disovered that tapping the brush over an area snaps the vertices to the surface. I will try Tweak>Move.
