Problem with UV set in Paint room

Dear Forum.
I´m new in 3DCoat and just working for about a month with the software.

I create my model with Sketchup 2017.

System: Laptop, 8GB, 2.9 GHz, Windows 10 Home

3DCoat, Ver. 2022.57

I use 3DCoat for texturing, right now. Generating the UV set on loading, out of the Sketchup model, than painting in the paint room. Model is imported as OBJ (even so, to solve my problem, I also tried to import as Collada or FBX file) with "Paint UV mapped mesh".

My first model worked out fine and there where no problems. The model had about 80k triangles.

In UV room I`m working on the UV set, adding and deleting seams, everything works fine.

Unwrapping, result is fine in UV room.

Return to paint room, the UV Set is broken.

There are multiple seam lines going from all over the UV set to the upper left corner.

I`don´t think that the problem comes from the model itself. The model consists of 4 separate models. I already painted each of them separately and it worked fine. For some spezial reason I need one texture map and because I`m not familiar with baking and working with separate texture maps in 3DCoat, I made a new model including all the separate models in one file.

I would highly appreciate if anybody can give me a hint where the problem comes from.

Thank you

Walter

Dear Carlosan

Thank you for your answer, but sorry this does not help. :-(

Any other idea?

Your assistance is highly appreciated.

i would like to say there's a fix ... but .. the uv auto unwrap doesn't always work perfectly .. and like anything automatic ... manual is always better ... doesn't have to be perfect but seam it out and get a better uv, you'll find the bakes are better quality too

Dear Elemeno

Thank you for your answer.

First step is automated unwrapping, than I do the manual rework in UV room, unwrapping and everything looks fine. After return to paint room the problem occurs.

So I don´t think it has anything to do with the automated process of UV unwrapping. There must be anything else.

I thought thay anyone may have had this problem already and found a solution for it.

But anyway thanks for your assistance.

Best regards

I opened the model in version 2022.60 It is triangulated and has no N-Gons.

After redoing the UVs on UV room
Clear Seams > Sharp Seams

I switched back to Paint room, I press NO to the warning message
