Materials duplicated when exporting as FBX

The materials assigned to each UV set are duplicated per object when I export the mesh and texture as a FBX file. Steps and settings as below.

The first two retopoed meshes are in the same UV set named 1. The second is in UV set 2. I baked them and export as FBX. I then tried to import to SP and Blender, but the material named 1(UV set 1) is duplicated for the first two meshes.

First, 3DC on my end has not ever given duplicate materials or objects.

It is possible that if you have re-baked a few times and that you have duplicate surface materials and paint objects.

When baking 3DC will ask you if you want to delete the current objects/ surface materials.

If you do "do not click yes", 3DC will bake duplicate objects and Materials.

My suggestion below:

Remove all paint objects and surface materials plus paint layers in the Paint room.  You can do this manually just so you know all is removed.

Now you can start over from the start.

Check all uv sets and Polygroups. that everything is setup correctly.

Use Names Correspondence for baking if possible. Sculpt room layers and Retopo room Polygroup layers named the same.

Suggestion. Rename your sculpt layers and polygroup layers for clarity.

With respect, I doubt that possibility. First of all, I did choose Yes when this window popped up. Besides, if there were any remaining layers or paint objects, then there should been more than one materials assigned to one object instead of duplicating materials for each object sharing the same UV set. I'll keep checking for any possible cause. If you can come up with any solution, please let me know. THX.

OK, that's not the problem and I try the best to give an answer upon the available information given.

Other than looking at the 3DC file, I cannot think of a cause.
