How to get a refund?

Too many bugs i just cant use it.  i cant finish my work cuz basic operations like resample symmetry and undo are crushing the project (or just trying to paint on a separate layer, so many bugs its like pre alpha stage).

Its too bad because in the moments it is working between one bug to another i'm actually enjoying the VOX  sculpt.

Everytime i have a bug im asked to show a video and a scene file.
I feel like i'm working in pilgway's QA instead of focusing on using the tool for my benefit.

Ill go back to my old lic im not gonna use it anyway.

Maybe ill upgrade again in the future if pilgway decide to listen to their customers and focus on bug proof this to a standard of a professional program.

For compare: i used blender for 5 days straight and had only 1 crush.
In maya i experienced maybe 1  day. usually maya manage to automatically save the scene before crush. which is annoying but manageable.
Some other programs don't crush at all.

3Dcoat: a bug or crush every 10 min. i cant work like that.

Please provide me an email for refund process here or in private

You can contact Sales@pilgway.com and paste your issue mentioned here. Normally, there is no refund with any software, as sales are final, but Pilgway is very fair. If you are bogged down from bugs, they will likely understand your situation and give you a refund. However, you have to take into account that you are probably using a public BETA build (most of them are). First, in the Update Manager (access in the Help Menu or upper right portion of the splash screen), look on the left side of the page and choose the latest STABLE build. They are indicated in green. Build 20 was the last stable build. Try this first and see if helps and it is a really good practice to test your issue on a sample file from the splash screen. If it is still producing the same problem on that file/model, then chances are high that it is indeed a bug and not a problem with the mesh or UV's. It sounds like an issue with the mesh, because most of the time, working in 3DCoat, you are not going to have crashes that frequently...unless there is just something messed up with the mesh itself. This is why it is so helpful to send a screen recording and work file. It will get a fix or resolution much faster.

If you have never even attempted to send a bug report, then it really isn't fair to Pilgway to apply a higher standard than you would with other applications....because you will find problems with most of them. You can look on 3ds Max, Maya, ZBrush and Blender forums and see all kinds of complaints about bugs. I have had my fair share of frustrations with bugs over the years, but being patient pays off. The plus side of cooperating with the developers of Pilgway, by sending bug reports if you find problems, is they will in turn try to return the favor by giving your feature requests more priority than it might otherwise get. You get to have more and more of an impact on the direction and functionality of the application, which is hard to do with most other applications.

I keep hearing this "so many bugs" routine. I've been using  3D coat for 14 years and I don't get any more bugs with it than any other CG program I've ever used. I've had nothing but good experiences painting layers in 3D Coat. It's definitely less prone to crash than Substance Painter.

I would agree. Usually, it was that way until recentIy, 3D Coat not being any less reliable than, say, ZBrush. Especially for what it offers in comparision, it is literally a miracle, by a small team.

But lately, I am writing Andrew several Emails with functionality issues every day, often subtracting from my own work time, cause things start to show fragmentation and unreliability. Things like Auto Export was basically unusable. There where disappearing/messed up Voxel Colors on file save, Isolation mode/-eye Icon issues, preset alphas and brush settings not stored, performance regressions here and there,  etc etc, and even files open wrongly with missing objects and colors/layers are currently a problem. The point being that hose are not some newly added cherry features that act up, but crucial, basic functionality one needs to be able to rely on. It is not a matter of only "Crash Prone-Ness", but about sheer realiability of the software. And that needs to be guaranteed for a serious pipeline, otherwise it's a pretty bad shape to be in as a user.

I see the point, every software has bugs. 3D Coat deserves an Oscar for how bug free it usually is compared to it's sheer complexity. It is natural. But defending currently feelable regressions in a globally gloryfying response like this doesn't benefit the devs, the community/users and the reputation of this software.

(Excuse me, I thought this was the development threat :dash2:, wish I could delete this comment here and transfer)-

That said a refund is certainly drastic out of my view, as the software indeed is not more crash prone than any other, especially AutoDesk and Zbrush.
