Member Hius Posted August 4 Member Share Posted August 4 When I'm trying to sculpt with my stylus, it moves the canvas instead of sculpting (the mouse does sculpt). Everything is up to date. Also, I reset the settings to default. Please help. Carlosan
You can define Stylus pen buttons. Access those info by clicking the camera icon. It is located at "customize navigation".

I don't see "brush" or "sculpt" in those settings - it has only navigation, as well as it doesn't recognise the "stylus pen tip" (as I don't need a "stylus button" for it, I need it to identify the stylus tip pressing on a tablet) as a key option. Carlosan
On Preferences have you selected WinTab ?

Strangely enough, it was working a few months ago, but when I returned to the program, this started. Could it be because it switched from trial to learning? Member leejjj Posted September 8 Member Share Posted September 8 bump. cuz im dealing with this too. currently using 3dcoat 2022.46, it was working fine till now. the stylus reversed the LMB functions with RMB functions. I can't sculpt unless i hold down the RMB on the stylus (side buttons) but clicking the UI elements works normally. I saw some old post about looking into Preference>Tablet PC but 3dcoat 2022 doesn't have that tab now. hope someone can help!
Solution SERGYI Posted September 9 Solution Share Posted September 9 Please start your tablet troubleshooting from the "3DCoat" framework that is called "TestStroke" for Windows: https://pilgway.com/~sergyi/TestStroke/TestStroke.zip This app is the first stop when narrowing pen-related problems. It contains all the system code without the "3DCoat" tools. Note that Mouse mode is unsupported (Wacom Tablet Properties > Mapping tab > Mode should be Pen, not Mouse). Make the strokes on your tablet and ensure the displayed strokes are correct. The strokes should depend on the pressure. Press keys "1" and "2" to switch between "Wacom" and "WindowsInk" tablet interfaces. Note which of them is working for you. Later, you will select between them in "3DCoat" using Edit > Preferences > Brushing > Tablet Interface. After making sure that the "TestStroke" is working, rename the user data folder "Documents\3DCoat" into something like "--3DCoat". This renaming is crucial because corrupted or incorrect "3DCoat" settings can lead to unlogical behavior of the "3DCoat". After renaming, run the "3DCoat". It will create a new user data folder with default settings. Ensure the tablet works correctly, as in the "TestStroke". Switch in "3DCoat" preferences between "Wacom" and "WindowsInk" in case the "TestStroke" revealed that it was needed. Manually restore your assets from the renamed user data folder into the newly created one.

I haven't used "TestStroke" - I use the tablet in other programs (Photoshop, Blender), and it works perfectly there. So, for the starter, I checked "Edit > Preferences > Brushing > Tablet Interface" and switched to "WindowsInk" there—it did it. Thank you.
