Using applink, object imports right away as surface mode instead of voxels, from Blender to 3DC

Hi, using latest applink and Blender (4.2.2) and 3DCoat version, I've been trying to use the addon in Blender to import the object as 'mesh as sculpt object' to 3DCoat, but instead of using the import tool and letting me choose between voxel or surface, it automatically plops the mesh into 3dc scene right away as a surface mode layer mesh, resulting in broken geometry that would otherwise be fine with voxels. This behavior didn't seem to exist in older versions of 3dcoat before I upgraded recently. Is there a way to import into 3dcoat as voxels, or otherwise let me prompt which I want via import tool?

Try this option

Hey, I've tried this, but it doesn't seem to do anything. What's the normal behavior, does it place the object into primitives tool tab? Uploaded a video showing the process. Before I could click send and it would send to the 'import tool' and I could choose to voxelize or not before applying to the scene. Not sure why it just drops it right away as surface layer too
