VDM function

I'm trying out the vdm pick and paste. Can the capture depth be adjusted so it won't capture the back and turn it into a cylinder? Because when I use extrude the cylinder gets stamped on the other models.

And when I use extrude on the same layer the vdm is not as detailed as the original. VDM size was 1024. Is there a way to improve it?

Ah thanks. Wierd it worked on voxel as you can see in the pic. But quality was not so detailed. 
How do people control how deep the capture of the vdm will be? Or vice versa how do people control how deep the stamp well be to exclude the background cylinder?

If you select Surface Sculpting

Or Your Sculpt mesh is on Surface mode

image.png (S) letter left to the layer name. (V) is for Voxel mode

The Pick & Paste Tool in the Surface Category on Left Tool Panel is available

Also can press SpaceBar to show QuickAccess Panel
