Member swifty Posted January 2 Member Share Posted January 2 Hi all & Happy New Year Paint Room It would be great if the paint room got some additional love in the form of a few more paint tools - Easily add Transparency/Alpha to a painted/masked region not just object based and not to have to mess around with Layer 0 Colour Curves Gradient Tool - Needs better control with stop points at either end to better control the gradient region - this could be such a powerful tool especially as you can already add textures/depth images but needs better controls More Procedural noise types Paint Effects such as spray paint & directional blur Mask Generators & Builders- Based on axis, Leaks, Dripping etc - similar to those in Substance Painter UV Room UDIM creation Thanks 2 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Once you've calculated your curvature map, from the Edit menu--> Calculate curvature, you can use these three parameters to tweak it. It is not practical to always keep the brush radius small to medium size simply to avoid a drastic drop-off in performance (once a brush size is scaled up to a large radius). If Andrew did a fundamental overhaul of the paint brush engine, I think he would discover how to solve this bottleneck. Other companies (Mudbox & Substance Painter for example) have, so I know Andrew can. Computers have gotten so much faster in the past decade or so, yet the same problem persists no matter how robust a user's system is.
