Member swifty Posted January 6 Member Share Posted January 6 The Blender Applink was working great one day, the next it wasn't. Figured out that the problem arose because I opened a Blender file from another user that doesn't have 3DC so they didn't have the Applink add-on installed. The Exchange Folder and Object/Texture folder was empty under the scene tab-3D Coat Applink settings. This is despite the fact that I do have 'Load UI' unchecked in Blender's preferences so in theory, it should have loaded all my default UI settings including the Applink details. This must be a bug, surely I have uninstalled the addon - done a restart, reinstalled addon It now reads as... Exchange Folder = C:\Users\name\Documents\AppLinks\3D-Coat\Exchange\ Object/Texture folder = C:\Users\name\Documents\3DC2Blender\ApplinkObjects\ It's still not working. It's sending an *.fbx to the location but when you open 3DC it's not there, nothing appears Can anyone confirm these are the right exchange & object/texture locations ? Or how to get it working again When opening another users Blender file - can it be fixed so that it retains the relevant 3d Coat Applink Settings Thanks in advance
Carlosan
Is right, my Exchange folder is also located onC:\Users\<username>\Documents\AppLinks\3D-Coat\Exchange\ Object texture folder, I let it empty reinstall the addon on Extension folder, not Addons
Member swifty Posted January 6 Author Member Share Posted January 6 Hi, Thanks for the reply - Do you mean under 'Get extensions'? It does not appear there. It's only available, as I see it, under Add-ons
Carlosan
For Blender 4.3 the correct location is C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\4.3\extensions\user_default\io_coat3D
Member Solution swifty Posted January 6 Author Member Solution Share Posted January 6 Hi, It's no longer there - all because I opened someone's file that doesn't use 3D Coat - this must surely be a bug? And needs fixing I downloaded from GitHub - change the download name from io-coat3d_main to io-coat3D and now it seems to be, on a primarily test, working again. I did not delete any files or folders whatsoever. Thank you for your help, its appreciated - Hopefully, it's all working again
