How to do this workflow in 3dcoat to output an obj that has vertex color? Which import option do I use to import an stl and then paint it and then which option to export it obj format with vertex colors that bambustudio can read and understand?
In blender I can paint vertex colors and export the colors within the obj file and bambustudio reads it well. But I really don't like how slow blender painting is. Would be great to know the workflow for 3dcoat.

Did you try this import option ?

I can import the stl and paint it in 3dc. But can't seem to successfully export from 3dcoat any format that has the vertex paint intact. Tried obj, fbx, lwo.  No vertex paint when I import to other apps.  And bambustudio only support obj with colors. The obj from 3dc only has one color when I import to bambustudio.

Edit. I was able to export it with wrl. But this format is not supported anymore in most applications.  Andrew should support obj with vertex colors.
A lot of 3dprinting people/bambustudio users would probably love to use 3dcoat for painting 3d print models.
Bambustudio is super slow and clunky for painting but we have no choice but to use it. Blender is equally slow for vertex painting.
3dcoat is really fast as usual.  Please advice Andrew to add this feature. There's a lot of 3dprinting people doing their own stuff with multicolor printing now it's almost mainstream so it would be good for 3dcoat to get those users.
