Carlosan
UDIM UV mapping Texturing is central to 3D. From UV to UDIM to Ptex, it is easy to think one technology has just displaced another, but the reality is more complex. UDIM UV mapping has enormous popularity for texturing in the face of much newer systems such as Ptex (which works very well in its own right). While Ptex may still yet win the texturing heart of pipelines around the world, it has not yet become the dominant force. Carlosan
This is the way 3DCoat supports udims, in other software may be different Quote Link to comment https://3dcoat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/31289-udim-uv-mapping/#findComment-198384 Share on other sites
Advanced Member Elemeno Posted February 27, 2025 Advanced Member Share Posted February 27, 2025 i really hope they improve the tools soon , this just isnt good enough , its a jumble sale of tools ... they need an artist working with them on workflow and ux Quote Link to comment https://3dcoat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/31289-udim-uv-mapping/#findComment-198385 Share on other sites
Advanced Member MJonathan Posted August 1, 2025 Advanced Member Share Posted August 1, 2025 I'm in modeling room! I've created the uv sets with UDIM names UVset 1: 1001 UVset 2: 1002 UVset 3: 1003 ... But now I can't found the option to export my objects with UV sets as UV tiles like in the video! How can I save my objects in this UDIM format? Quote Link to comment https://3dcoat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/31289-udim-uv-mapping/#findComment-200326 Share on other sites
Contributor SreckoM Posted August 1, 2025 Contributor Share Posted August 1, 2025 What version of 3Dcoat are you using? I can see it on my side when I try to export object and textures. Advanced Member MJonathan Posted August 1, 2025 Advanced Member Share Posted August 1, 2025 I'm using 2025.10A, I've created the model and UVsets in Modeling Room. Export Poly Object and Export Objects & Textures: Exports my polygroups but in UVsets instead of UV tiles, there are no a dialog with options. I don't have textures. Featured Comment Dmitriy Nos Posted August 2, 2025 Featured Comment Share Posted August 2, 2025 @MJonathan Before exporting, you first need to bake the retopo mesh from the Retopo/Modeling room into a polygonal object. 1 Quote Link to comment https://3dcoat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/31289-udim-uv-mapping/#findComment-200350 Share on other sites

Advanced Member MJonathan Posted August 2, 2025 Advanced Member Share Posted August 2, 2025 Thanks guys!! And I'm agree! this should be working in every room! If that's the uniq way to export my objects with uvtiles(UDIMS) instead of uvSets, modeling room should be capable to export them with those settings.
