Member ALESSIO Posted March 7, 2025 Member Share Posted March 7, 2025 Hi! would be cool to run autopo without the need to merge every layer first. Good for complex meshes. - select the root of the sculpt tree or a group and run autopo. - the tool would create the same tree in the retopo room with each layer and same hierarchy.but how to know the polycount for each individual mesh? - the polycount would be calculated in the group or if it's the entire mesh. i.e. you want to run autopo for the whole mesh which has 300k so when selecting the required poly count you can decide how much of the total mesh you want (similar to instaLOD) and if you want more geometry but keeping the same desired poly count you can paint the area or meshes that would need a bit more geometry compared to a flat surface. disclaimer: i'm not a programmer therefore I don't know if what I'm asking is even possible happy to discuss about it. Good for complex meshes. Hello! Now you can select all layers in SculptTree and run AutoRetopo. The specified number of polygons will be distributed to all individual parts of the sculpture. Unfortunately, the hierarchy of the sculpture's parts will be lost, each part will be transferred to a separate retopo-layer.
Member ALESSIO Posted March 7, 2025 Author Member Share Posted March 7, 2025 Ah wow! I thought only retopology via decimation could do it! I'll try it immediately! about the hierarchy actually matter little to nothing (i.e bad call on my side there) Thank you for the fast answer!
