Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Frustrations

Hi, I'm having some frustrating issues. On Ubuntu 24.04, I'm unable to add smart materials via "Install Extentions" or simply dragging the 3dcpack into the smart materials folder. I'm hit with "Migration error" unable to rename file from /home/user/Documents/3DCoat/patterns/Fabric/MTL00587_Fabric4k.pbrm to (/home/user/Documents/3DCoat/UserPrefs/SmartMaterials/Fabric/MTL00587_Fabric4k.pbrm. This error happens for all 3dcpacks.

This is on the 3DC 2025.01 build as well as 2024_321.

Alternatively, I've installed the windows build via wine, which seems to work much better than the native Linux version. I'm able to install smart materials and other 3dcpacks without issue. However, I'm unable to get Blender applink to work with 3DC on Wine, whereas it works with the Linux version.

Any advice on resolving either of these issues? I don't care if it works natively or on Wine, I just want it to work.

Edit: 3DCoat creates a patterns/Fabric folder in /home/user/Documents/3DCoat/patterns/Fabric/ , it populates it with the textures from a smart material, displays the "Migrate error!" message, asks for 3DCoat to restart and then automatically deletes the patterns/Fabric folder.
