Can someone confirm if 3DCoat 2025 permanent license can be used with older versions?
Or someone who has 2024-2025 permanent license install this https://pilgway.com/files/3dcoat/2021/3DCoat-2021-11.exe version and activate it with your version license and let me know if that works. This is the only version that works with my system and before I buy 2025 permanent license I need to be sure I can use 2021.11 with it. I've 23 days of trial left and I want to know what to do after it.

I ain't getting nowhere with customer support with this unfortunately.

Have tried the newer versions on my PC now and then for last two years and also on my laptop. first in Win 10 and then upgraded pc parts and fresh installed win 11 but still I encounter the same issue.

Issue being:
Every time I press Undo right after a brush stroke, System freezes for a micro second. If I wait 0.5sec after a stroke and then press undo everything works smoothly. It feels like 3DCoat is writing history of the stroke and pressing undo in the middle of that causes the freeze, just a wild guess could be anything really.
I use Huion drawing tablet, but brushing works fine and I've tried windows ink on and off so using wintab or not. Issue seems to be elsewhere.
Same undo freeze happens with or without the drawing tablet.

This issue isn't in version 2021.11 though and everything works smoothly while handpainting.

My system:
Motherboard: Asrock B450 pro4
PSU: Corsair 750w
Processor: Ryzen 9 5950x
GPU: Asus 4070 Ti Super
Ram: 64 Gb (yes I've XMP profile on and ran memory tests, no instability)
Win 11

Hi

Try swapping to WindowsInk driver on Edit Menu > Preferences > Brushing Tab

The 2025 license doesn't work with 2021.

If the problem remains, we will give you an extra 2021 license, write an email to business@pilgway.com

Hi

I mentioned in my original post it doesn't have anything to do with Tablet Interface modes Wintab / WindowsInk. It doesn't effect the freeze at all. Brushing in all versions works fine. UNDO freezes the 2024-2025 3DCoat version for some reason.

I had another Finnish friend try the latest version 2025.10 and he experienced the same micro freeze. he doesn't even have a drawing tablet installed and did it with a mouse. is it an issue with windows language install or something like that? like Photoshop has a known issue where your binds don't work with certain windows language packages.

Attached a video to showcase how the microstutter acts for me in 2024-2025 versions.
And another video how smoothly everything runs in 2021.11

Have gone through versions:
2021.11 (NO MICROSTUTTER WITH UNDO)
- Version doesn't support clipping layers or masks thus I would love to be able to use 2024+ versions that do support it.

2024.28-03 (MICROSTUTTER)
2024.31 (MICROSTUTTER)

2025-10 (MICROSTUTTER)

If I can't find any help to the issue i'll contact the business email and try my luck there. I really want to invest into 3DCoat, just a version that works and meets my handpainting needs.

Tried to adjust this link https://pilgway.com/files/3dcoat/2021/3DCoat-2021-11.exe to different 3DCoat versions to try more, but unfortunately was met with 404 pilgway site. would like to try 2024.12 as it implemented the clipping layers and masks. Also version 2024.30 added blender 4.2 applink support and I happen to use that Blender version so getting that version or above to work would be a blessing.
