Hi, I am using 3DCoat 2025.09 and I cannot find the App Link (or 'Open in Original App') options in the File menu. Is this feature limited to a newer version?

Also, I cannot find the 3D-Coat Applink extension in my Blender 5.0 preferences to enable it. Could you please advise on how to establish the connection?"

I installed Blender5.0,

I can't find 3d-coat addon in blender preferences.

What is the 3D-coat version I have to install?

Copy the files

C:\Program Files\3DCoat-2025\data\ToolsPresets\InstallAppLinks

following this instruction

Did you follow these steps, in the video? If you did and still don't see the applink addon in Blender 5.0, try adding 3DCoat & Blender to your EXCEPTIONS list in your Firewall and Anti-Virus. You may also want to check the User Account Control settings in Windows, because it would seem to be some kind of PERMISSIONS issue. Someone in the comments section complained that the Applink doesn't work because they haven't installed Blender, but are using a Blender Zip file to launch Blender and if that is the case with you also, I would try to install Blender. I am pretty sure 3DCoat cannot access Blender files through a Zip file, but perhaps a Pilgway developer can chime in about that.
