For smaller bumps and surface deviations, it works perfectly for me. I usually pick the sharp falloff brush alpha (3rd to the right of the Default alphas) and it works really well for polishing the surface. Can you screen record how you are using it and how it peforms? the falaloff was the trick , i have the lineaar brush first of all , and it just cut straight in but the pointier falloff was alot better , just need a flatten brush that holds the normals 1 Quote Link to comment https://3dcoat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/33520-3dcoat-2026-development/page/7/#findComment-204770 Share on other sites

Member Sal_GC Posted May 15 Member Share Posted May 15 Roadmap planned for 3DCoat 2026: ... - OpenPBR <== ... Hi there everyone, I noticed this objective in the 2026 roadmap. I was wondering, what would this bring into the app? A new material system for PPP with more modern standards? I read up a bit on it but can't really see what are the advantages of adopting this tech. Member Sal_GC Posted May 16 Member Share Posted May 16 Thank you so much for this update! It is such a milestone for 3DC! What a great day. 3DC is unmatched in hand painting, and proceduralism was its weaker point, now having addressed this, the possibilities really increase! I have been following this update for many months, I am glad it has finally come to fruition. I will be making tutorials to showcase it as soon as I get a grasp on it. Thanks for the heads-up carrots! 5 Quote Link to comment https://3dcoat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/33520-3dcoat-2026-development/page/7/#findComment-204834 Share on other sites
Member unity2k Posted May 19 Member Share Posted May 19 (edited) Is this thread effectively done, and development branches are now at the GPUPPP thread alone? I'd like to add that my "Updates" shortcut that shows the newest version is not being directed to this second update for the 2026 version. Advanced Member Mihu83 Posted May 22 Advanced Member Share Posted May 22 (edited) Ok, I don't know what is going on, but a lot off my brush presets are broken out of nowhere... both in 2025.17 and 2026.1 Tool option panel doesn't show up for many presets and the presets itself behaves way different. When I try to choose some presets, 3DC just switch to different tool. Tried to remove all presets and load them from 3dcpack, but that doesn't change a thing. Don't know if that have something to do with 2026.1 version or the newest 2026 beta, but something is seriously messed up. Oh, and why the hell I have constant info abou Several UV sets share the same name when I'm using models without UV maps? Texture - Mesh & Texture resolution doesn't do a thing. EDIT: Seems like some changes(brush engine?) was made in 2026 and it overwrites/modifies older 3DC installations. After purging all the versions and reinstalling 2025.17, all brushes are working fine. It would be nice if new versions wasn't srewing up older versions... Carlosan
I imported it into Blender and saved it as a binary STL file (not ASCII). It opened in the modeling room without any problems. and from Retopo/Modeling to Surface Sculpt The model has only one side with no background in some parts, which could cause problems. If i need to fix sculpted model 3dcoat cannot import it freely without other app for re export, and even can't to "separate parts", it's just eats all my ram and crash. For example in nomad sculpt it import original stl and separate parts in two seconds. Maybe devs can fix this issue in future updates Edited June 29 by sprayer 1 Quote Link to comment https://3dcoat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/33520-3dcoat-2026-development/page/7/#findComment-205460 Share on other sites

Advanced Member animk Posted June 30 Advanced Member Share Posted June 30 2026.05, there is color bleeding on the UV seams in curvature baking layer that would affect the cavity painting. This is not in 2026.01. Is it a temporary bug and will be fixed later? It's good that you noticed that; it's critical, and we'll fix it. 1 Quote Link to comment https://3dcoat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/33520-3dcoat-2026-development/page/7/#findComment-205478 Share on other sites

I switched to mono tone curvature baking and the issue is gone, it happens in RGB curvature baking. 1 1 Quote Link to comment https://3dcoat.com/forum/index.php?/topic/33520-3dcoat-2026-development/page/7/#findComment-205479 Share on other sites
