Im on arch linux and followed the installation instructions for the latest version. I get this error now:

error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

i saw an old thread for 2025.17 that had the same issue. There was also some talk about a flatpak witch i would really appreciate to not have to deal with dependency issues.

It is because, for some reason, 3dCoat uses Gnome 2 libraries. I think it is Open/Save  file dialog that is Gtk2. Which is decades old....

You will probably have some more dependency issues after you resolve this one. If you can find this library file somewhere else, download it, and place is under LinuxLibs folder (it is folder you extracted from 3dcoat archive  you downloaded here). And than add that folder to LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

I did built flatpak for 2015.17, and sent to 3dcoat team, but they really do not care much about Linux, so I would not hold my breathe here.
