Advanced Member yoohasz Posted May 21 Advanced Member Share Posted May 21 Hey-hey! I tried asking for help on discord, I'll try here too. If anyone knows how I can convert the color modulation of a matcap (aka the color OF the matcap) into vertex color data please hola at me. It would be such a fun workflow to flip the matcap shader's color into editable and paintable vertex color. Carlosan
In 3DCoat, MatCaps (Material Captures) use baked-in, view-dependent lighting and cannot be directly converted into 3DCoat's PBR Voxel Paint. The recommended 3DCoat workflow is to mimic your MatCap using Smart Material with PBR channels. Then using projection painting, reapply the image back on top of your sculpts.
