Advanced Member ShnitzelKiller Posted August 18, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted August 18, 2009 It seems you can only import two filetypes in 3d coat (correct me if I'm wrong), and they appear to be OBJ and SL. I am really puzzled with this. Why second life objects when it can't do .x, .STL, and the essentials?

Collada would solve a lot of importing problems between different platforms. The most important apps support collada already, the popularity is a bit like obj. Let's see. Andrew Shpagin
OBJ, LWO, STL, PLY, (FBX - import only) are now available. COLLADA - working over it.
Advanced Member 3DArtist Posted September 25, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 25, 2009 COLLADA would be useful to import DAE files from Google Sketchup. The free version of sketchup does not natively export OBJ files.
Member Lahoreh Posted September 25, 2009 Member Report Share Posted September 25, 2009 I agree for COLLADA! It would be great!
