Inverting the lasso type strokes for the brush tool in the paint room

Hi,

When painting with the brush and a brush stroke, I can erase by holding CTRL pressed (I think it inverts the tool)

When painting with brush and any of the lasso type strokes, that doesn't seem to work. Should this work? Only color is active.
Currently, I have to switch to the eraser tool to do my erasing.
