Advanced Member ifxs Posted February 27, 2010 Advanced Member Share Posted February 27, 2010 Does anyone know if we have a tool in 3DC like the TRANSPOSE-MASTER from ZB? Quite often I find myself wishing I could move the sculpts multiple Vox Tree layers at once. Thanks for any insight and help you can offer, as I'm still getting situated in 3DC, and enjoying transitioning much of my sculpt projects to 3DC :-)
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted February 27, 2010 Reputable Contributor Share Posted February 27, 2010 Does anyone know if we have a tool in 3DC like the TRANSPOSE-MASTER from ZB? I haven't tried that myself, but perhaps that will do the trick.
Advanced Member ifxs Posted February 27, 2010 Author Advanced Member Share Posted February 27, 2010 Thanks for the words AbnRanger. I use the pose tool very often in my voxroom sculpting, but havent gotten it to work across multiple vox tree layers simultaneously. I dont want to have to merge my vox tree layers but rather transform multiple layers while maintaing the separate vox tree layers. I'll test out the method you mentioned, thanks for the tip, hope it works :-)
Advanced Member ifxs Posted February 27, 2010 Author Advanced Member Share Posted February 27, 2010 I've done a few tests now using various parenting methods from the vox tree, changing parent child relationships and a few other ideas, and NONE OF THEM WILL TRANSPOSE MULTIPLE VOX TREE LAYERS! Sounds like a feature request, and honestly, I'm puzzled as to why more 3DC users havent asked for such a feature before, this is an integral aspect of my sculpting workflow, and I'm disappointed its not already in 3DC(or maybe I and others just dont know how to activate such a feature). If anyone knows how to transpose multiple vox tree layers, ala the transpose master for Z-Brush, please do share any tips, I'd greatly appreciate it, thank you. Javis
Unfortunately at the moment it is not possible. I've requested it before, and talked at lengths with Andrew about it some months ago. It may be possible that Andrew has some trick up his sleeve to make this happen now, I would put in a feature request for it or send him a PM asking him about it. Advanced Member ifxs Posted February 28, 2010 Author Advanced Member Share Posted February 28, 2010 thank you for placing a vote, coming from you, it'll matter a bit more IMO. P.S.: I'm a large portion through your Atlas Voxel Video tutorials. A purchase I'm glad I made! And I reference your vimeo/youtube 3dC tuts often. Thanks for making 3DC far more accessible than IMO its ever been!. P.P.S.: I'm not sure if you saw my other POLL/Feature request, but if you feel the same about transforming the symmetry plane when needed(and and others I OFTEN do), your vote/thoughts would be appreciated via the link below: http://www.3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5146
Carlosan
In 3Dcoat you can pose, move multiple objects at the same time while in zbrush you need to step down to a lower level to do that using the very poor plugin Transpose master,in 3Dcoat all those tweaking can be done straight on the original mesh. Sorry but i never understood how to do this. is there any video showing the step by step workflow ? ty
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted January 31, 2014 Reputable Contributor Share Posted January 31, 2014 Sorry but i never understood how to do this. is there any video showing the step by step workflow ? ty Check "Through All Volumes" in the Toolbar, when using the Pose tool. It works best when the layers have been cached and you are working on proxies (basically lower SubD levels)
Carlosan
loud and clear what about in 3Dcoat all those tweaking can be done straight on the original mesh. I had tested this and my computer basically drops to its knees ty
