Export Object from voxtree change .obj position.

Im currently using 3.2.02 but i think its valid for all builds.

It is same issue this guy doing retopo work is having

Voxel object has not same position as retopo work.

http://www.3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5327.

Strangely Export Scene is OK,just Export Object that is broken.

Issue is super easy to reproduce with Man Friday's goblin here.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/zjymy4k1muy/Goblin_Test.3b

You jsut need any other program to see position difference...Zbrush,Mudbox,Topogun ect.

I thought this issue was fixed but again I tried today to bake occlusion in Xnormals

and voxel layer has a completely different scale than exported retopo layer.

Again as stated above the problem is only when using Export Object from voxtree,

'Export Scene' option respect scale correctly. The problem is from 3dCoat not from Xnormals because scale of imported objects(retopo+voxel layer) does not match in every apps I tried (topogun,zbrush,mudbox..)

I have seen this problem too. For one reason blender imports this OK, so I do this first, discard the .mtl and then go to zbrush.

I also use the 'set to global space' command every time I resize or move a voxel layer, or after importing an obj there. I'm not sure if this related to this problem though.

No, .mtl file does not hold position and scale info.

I just tried in blender and retopo layer and exported voxel object scale and orientation does not match.

Also as I posted in the screenshot above orientation and scale are wrong even if I just reimport in 3DCoat as reference mesh.

The problem only affect Export Object option and not Export scene.

The reason you dont have any problem importing in Blender is probably because one of those 2 reasons

maybe you use export scene option instead of export object

or that you dont make retopo in 3DC so you dont see how they does not match.

If you try with the test files above you will see that it doesnt work.

But really, I must thank you tough :) for the tip about deleting the .mtl because

very often I get error notices in Zbrush when trying to import .obj files from 3DC,

but when deleting the .mtl it seems I dont get error messages anymore!

Export Pattern for Merge respect scale and orientation!!! :yahoo:

Now I can export both matching retopo and voxel layers. At last.

Note:So Andrew,if you want to fix this you must find what is difference between

Export Object and Export Pattern for Merge. It will give you the answer about what makes scale and orientation wrong :) .
