Hello All,

My name is Jose and I am from Washington State (US). I am totally new to 3d but I have been using blender for the last 3 months. I have just bought an educational version of 3d Coat and I am having a blast.

The learning is coming slowly but hopefully i will be able to create something that doesn't look like a deformed grapefruit.

Hi Everyone, this is Jerry, and I'm back again! I originally purchased 3D-Brush (that's correct) back in October of 2007. Due to going to a fixed income, I had to leave, but now I have 3.5 and love it.

I'm still in San Diego, enjoying the usual beautiful weather. Can't wait to update my computer to a little faster version.

I have a long way to go to get back up to speed (not that I really ever was totally there), but it looks like an enjoyable process, especially with all the support I see here in the forums and (of course) Andrews group. :clapping:

Hello Everyone!

I'm a veteran 3D artist, have been at this for 16 years now... Off and on however since I worked for a long time in Flash movie production.

But I've come to the realization that my true love has, is and always will be 3D! So I've decided to start learning 3dCoat and see if I can make something look better than a pair of 3D Pants!

I'll be asking some pretty noobish questions so bear with me please... :yahoo:

PS... I tried uploading a picture, editing my profile but the system gives me an error message: [#1026] You are not permitted to modify all or some of your profile information. anyone know why?

Welcome everybody.

@bolivar

Art least we have some common interests, the last two LOL. OK more than these. I play double base (jazz, blues) (and electric sometimes). Philosophy and history is another common I guess.

Ask and have all the help we can provide. We're good on this. I believe so.

I love the retoppo feature and became quite attached so I brought it to make some awesome content for games and movies.

I Mainly used 3Ds max and sort of got hard surface modeling down pack just the organic modeling not too sure and want to explore it.

Hi to all, my name is Jim, coming from a country in Europe, since 2 years exploring the world of 3DCoat, which by the way comes close to perfection in context of 3D program perspectives in my point of view. Experiences with ZBrush, Carrara, Blender, Lightwave. I am not a Photoshop-man rather a user of all different software programs which I mix into my own special way, my own 'artistic handwriting'. I am a very creative person in an array of different fields, to name a few; making paper reliefs, glass objects, textile design, graphic design, teacher in percussion, besides all this I am into 2 & 3D digital design. I develloped some specialisms like texture making "handmade artistic textures" = not based on photoos but started from a white screen. For most people painting with these textures need some experimentation, it feels, it works different because they are designs by itself. With other words it is an other approch in painting. Personally I find the painting options in 3DCoat wonderful, a very easy way to use painting systems, excellent for the use of my textures/materials/shaders. By using these, so rich in detail artistic textures, with just a couple of strokes your projects become very quickly well painted. Your project will look original which should be every artists goal. Let your art work stand out of all other art works! Although not rich, I feel rich due to my given talents which by the way I like to share with all 3DCoat users, you can find them on the 3DC Webpage/Download section/Resourses. Check it out and let me know if you like them, and......show me some results. I also work on demand, so..... in need of a special something....ask me and I might be capable off!

Hi everyone! I'm Alex Arbuznikov. I'm from Russia.

I'm a 3d artist - now mostly architecture visualization(interior/exterior). 3d graphics was always my passion since school.

Also I'm a programmer! :)

And right now, with the "power" of programmer and 3d artist :) I'm going to make a little game. That's why I paid attention to the 3d-coat.

This program is great! I know, it still has a big room to grow, but anyway its a very powerful tool. And the community here is very nice as I can see!

So, hello again! I'm glad to join your community! Hope for your support and goodwill. Thanks :)

Best regards,

Alex Arbuznikov

Hello Everybody!

I am a hobbyist learning 3ds Max for modeling and Vue for creating landscapes to import the models into. I purchased 3D-Coat to help with painting and re-topology but when I discovered voxel sculpting I was amazed. Such freedom! I am looking forward to learning how to use this wonderful tool and to keep up with the great new features and frequent updates. Thanks to Andrew and the team for making modeling fun!

These images are rendered in Vue with OBJ models created using 3D-Coat and 3ds Max.

Hey guys/girls!

My name is Johnny, I'm from Holland and I just started to use 3D Coat since two weeks ago.

I've downloaded the trial a few days ago, and I love it!

My hobbies are almost everything related with 3D art; I started out in Cinema 4D, still use it at work, switched to Maya after one year and one year after I switched to Houdini (Houdini is awesome!).

I just started sculpting a character because I want to create a high-end muscle rig in Houdini.

Currently I'm working on a sculpture of John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) when I've got time left I will share some WIP on the forum.

My 3D Coat trial almost run out, I will probably buy the learning edition in the next week.. :)

Cheers

Cool. Sounds like a good character for using muscle rigs. Would like to see a shot of that rig when you're done, as well as the sculpt.

I will share the sculpture + rig as soon as the final version is finished, it might take a while for me to finish everything.. :)

Hello guys,

My name is Tonton Gaspacho, I'm from France and I just started to use 3D Coat since one month.

This soft is so intuitive, great product :)

I'm working with cinema4D and Octane render. My dream is to create landscape for my models.

I'm using the 3.7.01A eductional version 64 bits

It seems there is something wrong on my UI :

In voxel room, i don't have the LC submenu on the left side when in surface mode,

nore "merge" "primitive" in the adjust submenu,

like in this tuto about decimate function :

Any ideas ???

Thx

Tonton Gaspacho

Hello everybody,

My name is Curtis, I live in Syracuse NY, and I'm beginning my journey as a freelance 3d generalist and finishing up my last year of art school classes. I've been eyeing 3dcoat for the last year and a half and after the 3.7 release speed increases on my current workstation I decided to jump in and buy a license. Well it was on my todo list for some time but seeing the development progress left no doubt in my mind that 3dcoat would be a part of my toolkit. Very exciting product and I look forward to integrating it into my projects. I will probably be hitting the forum with a lot of questions and I hope to contribute some constructive information as well.

Hi everyone :)

I'm fairly new to 3D-Coat and hope to find some support here. I use Blender and Houdini for modelling, animating, ect. At the moment I'm trying to figure out the best way to texture a dragon (ptex) - if anyone could point me to a good tutorial I would be really glad.

So long, dragon

Btw: I'm from Austria, so grammar mistakes might occur ^^
