A necklace doodle...

Edit: Threw the doodle into Blender cycles, nothing fancy at all...

Thanks. :D

The picture with the black background is a 3DCoat render. Neither picture is simulating a real metal...

Some armor concepts using an old charactor of mine. The armor still look like blobs but I need to finish the charactor first, then the armor. I will add more details to to the armor, etc...

The Roman Gladitor helmets and armor have some great looking designs on them... I will see what I can do... The 3D concept gives my brain something to work on.

Starting to slap some major muscle groups on and working on the hands as well... very rough still.

I'm not sure if I will stick with the shield idea, maybe a round one instead...

Also been getting ideas about what kind of designs to put on the armor and shield...

3,700,000 polygons in surface mode of the entire scene so far...

Edit: added a few more items...

Some more armor and shield work.

After armor, back to the rest of the stuff to figure out how I want to finish them as they are still in the rough including the body...

Total scene polygons so far 5,800,000.

EDIT:

I started a early low voxel concept sculpt for his spearman opponent. That is what I so enjoy about 3DCoat, no 2D concept but one in 3D... Now 2D concept is better in the long run but I like I just having fun with 3D and this all so far is 3D concepts both the first and second gladiator.

Thanks Tony and Garagarpe...

Ok, another update. This model is going to be for animation in Blender. I'm working to get past the doodle stage of my work. Doodling is fun but I want to do more finish work as my energy level has inceased do to better health.

The body is next to fix / detail and a number of little fixes all around the scene. I think I got past the doodle stage but this model could be more detailed but will end here on the most part except on the fixes...

6,400.000 polygons in the entire scene. 3DCoat still amazes me on how much work you can do on limited number of polygons...

The shaders on the model are stand-ins for now.

Wow! Bizarre and fun, when will you know it's done? I mean, texturing will suggest all sorts of possibilities. How many individuals are present (including the pig-like lumpkin at the bottom)?

Rendered in 3DCoat with 3 lights. I jacked up the intensity beyond 1.000 on each light. Post bloom added in Gimp. Quick vertex painting to give some life to the image.

5 individuals including the one on the base...

A couple 2d painting converted to 3D with adjustments... either building some with the brush or adding brush stroke texture to the paintings.

imported for "images as mesh"...

Rendered in 3DCoat.
