The model was a speed session done in Silo2 (about 2 hours) I've been playing about with the texture for a bit, im not very good at texture painting yet so it takes me a long time. Also, check out the fill tool and add your own custom images, fill either by cube-map or UVs on different layers (with different scale sizing), then blend them? Another option would be to use the PS link (or try materials for a stencil) and overlay some real imagery of leather/scales or some such for adding depth to what you've already painted.
