It is mainly performance update

1) Loading speed of 3DB file increased much.

2) Multiple processors support.

3) 4GB memory aceess on 64-BIT Windows and 3GB access on Win32 worth /3 in boot.ini

4) Hints style changed essentially

5) Many few issues fixed.

Testing on multicore computers is very important. I able to test only on 2-core AMD 64.

I don't know if it's just the multicore optimizations, but the smooth brush is so much more responsive now. It's really nice to work with.

Just after trying 3d coat it for a few moments, it loads files faster, and runs so much more smoothly that it is like I'm using 3d coat on an upgraded machine.

PS I have dual-core @2.81 ghz, with 4gb of ram

Movement of the camera with MMB+Alt appears to be disabled, however LMB+RMB+ALT works instead as per the help.

*EDIT* I restarted my computer and did the same things, and it works fine now.

all good to me..

and the increased memory (4gb) is priceless ! :)

Runing Beta 4 on Intel 64bit quad core with 6gb. Starts very fast, also its looks like brushing is more smooth. 3db use 2 cores all the time.

Can you please check LWO import? I can't get anything in right now (it loads and does stuff, but no model appears). 3db files load fine though.

Seems to depend on the chosen texture size. Whenever I select 4096 width or/and height), import fails.

Everytime.

I set occlusion calc to 6 lights and smoothing to 22 and got a'Instability warning"

occlusion will crash everytime when I increase the smootheness (last time a value of 9 was enough to crash 3dc)

Occlusion pass works only on one cpu.

During painting (brush is awesome now :)) I can see 3dc taking only below 50 percent cpu time. Overall the system comes over 50%, but the actual process never exceeded 50% on my machine. What would be the most stressful task in 3dc to test processing power?
