This year's Comicon Im doing a Tudor era take on Nightcrawler.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightcrawler_%28comics%29

Really fun time this year.Lots N' lots of great entries. :)

Im using the direct 3dCoat'sDenseQuads-to-Zbrush Workflow...no retopology (until the gameres lowpoly of course).

3dCoat's Bas-relief tool and voxels custom curves really helped a lot. :brush:

I will also probably do all shader baking and texture work in 3DCoat.

I like it. Just curious...why 16th century? I don't know the history/origins of the character. Only that he is one of the X-Men

Only that he is one of the X-Men

But X men existed in 16th century, as highlander, as hellboys, didn't they?

Well done artman :clapping:

Waiting for the painted version.

Dense quads? I tried this too. It works, especially combined with the hidden softener (shift+draw, release shift as drawing)

How will you find the new remesher or r2, we'll probably discuss this. :rolleyes:

This year's theme is "Alternate Universe" ,so we need to put the charcter in another dimension...

Some peoples change genders and timelines, some others mix 2 characters together

ex:Rococco Catwoman,Hulk mixed with terminator,Flash-Shaman...you get the idea.

Lots of fun :)

I picked Tudor era Nightcrawler because I knew it woulnd't be too hard to do,didn't want to rip my hair off.

A lot of crazy entries this year really.There is also a 2D category with great entries too.

@chris_solo:Thanx, man

@michalis:Thank you sir.

I won't ever use Dynamesh for the same reason I will never use Sculptris:

I need to work with symmetry on rotated spaces...only in 3DCoat you can do that.

(or using Zb Posable Symmetry...but it does not work half of the time)

I use Zbrush mainly for polishing and morph targets(layers) iterations,

Im not good enough sculptor to use only "undos",I need morph targets to compare or cancel multiple changes.

@LJB:How do you think I should the kneepads look??Can you do a quick paintover or somethin'?

I got a lot of Nightcrawler references but they are all very different.

Oh So sorry I missed this. Some kinda quilted Leather maybe They want to be of the era yet functional as knee pads. Those look too 'future' costume to me.

chesterfield quilted?

post-1266-0-13500900-1317394373_thumb.jp I know its a chair blink.gif but you get the idea.
