Member rs3d Posted November 18, 2011 Member Report Share Posted November 18, 2011 Would be nice to export the temporary mesh that gets created when working in Voxel Surface mode... Because of the conversion the mesh looses quite some details applied in Surface Mode.
Reputable Contributor digman Posted November 18, 2011 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted November 18, 2011 For you not to loose any small details you would have to increase the voxel count resolution when going back to voxel mode from surface mode. I do not know the specs of your computer and how high of voxel resolution you can go to to be able to retain all the details in your model. You do not have to go back to voxel mode in order to retopo or merge your mesh with the details (normal or displacement) into the paint room. You can export your model as a dense quad mesh from the file menu while in surface mode. There are several options avaiable to you. Also under the vox tree tab there is the export feature but not the export dense quad mesh.
Member rs3d Posted November 19, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted November 19, 2011 I want to export the exact same mesh like working in Surface Mode. Exporting Quads or ProjectedQuads changes the original Mesh since they convert back to Voxel first... And raising Voxel resolution won't work since a polygon is much more precise and always looses detail.
