Member designamyte Posted June 14, 2012 Author Member Share Posted June 14, 2012 Ok, finaly found it. In the "manual", by viewing EVERY page. Cause "search" function in the PDF won´t work for my special question. You can found the answer on the actual manual on page 65. Why it doesn´t work ? Cause the whole page 65 is a bitmap. Very bad. If it´s possible, dear manual-makers, i would be very glad if next version of the manual could have letters as types. Cause of the serch functionality. Also the program becomes more complex. I would appreciate it. Thank you. cheers des. PS. hold down "w" and you get a permanent wireframe view.

Psmith
The manual is a typical .pdf file. It is not a bitmap. It can be accessed, downloaded and opened in a .pdf reader (Adobe Acrobat Reader) and searched, just like any .pdf document. I just did a search for "wireframe" and page 61 is displayed showing the various viewport display modes, including the wireframe mode. Just in case you are looking at the wrong document, this is the address of the current manual: http://www.pilgway.com/~greg/ANewManualFeb2012.pdf After it completely downloads into your browser, simply use "Save As" to keep a permanent copy, which you should then open in your .pdf reader (which has search functions). Member designamyte Posted June 15, 2012 Author Member Share Posted June 15, 2012 Hey, thx for reply. Nice that someone agree with that @Psmith Thank you for the link, Greg. Didn´t know there exists newer manuals as in the actual package you download from. To clarify : i didn´t mean the whole PDF. I meant only the "whole page 65" is an bitmap. Cause try to select one word out of it, or crank up your zoom-in. You will see pixels. Tested it in two different viewers : Foxit Reader & PDF-X viewer. Can´t imagine Adobe Reader will have other results... (don´t have adobe-r.) Yes, page 61 apper if you search "wireframe". But this function (also reach- able with the shortcut "4") doesn´t have an effect in the voxel-mode or in the surface mode. Therefore i find my answer on page 65, which say´s you have to hold down "w" (sound´s logical w = wireframe) to get the permanent wireframe, as long as you hold the "w"-button. Now i am happy. Also in the current manual, page 65 seems to be a bitmap . Don´t want to bother someone, its only to clarify the case. Anyway. Thanks again... cheers designamyte
Psmith
If the voxel resolution is set high enough, and you press and hold the "W" key, it may appear that there is no wireframe visible, (because it is so dense). Try zooming way in, before you press the "W" key, and then you will see it. Yes, page 65 is a bitmap, but it does clearly show the "W" key as the shortcut for wireframe. You can find it in the table of contents of the manual, or by searching for the word "Hotkeys", which is what keyboard shortcuts are called in 3DC lingo. Also, on the forum, if you do a search for "keyboard shortcut for wireframe" you will get a thread that tells you to use the "W" key for wireframe display.
