  1. sorry to ask this again if its already been mentioned numerous times on here but,... 1 - are there any tutorials provided for voxel modeling? 2 - Can we import models into the volumetric modeling space? Because when I click the option for it my regular scene disappears and I'm left with a sphere. I mean I understand its in its early development stage and I read I cant even save what I do right now, but I'm just curious. also, is or will the option for texture stamping be available in v.3? Like selecting the mask and engraving its design into the model? thanks
  2. thanks SonK I appreciate your help. One more question though, does voxel modeling support the use of the texture mask model options?
  3. so does that mean the voxel modeling wont work on my PC with a radeon card?
  4. well I'm a bit worse off in that respect, I'm using a radeon card. X850 Pro to be exact. Ive been searching over the web for answers but to no avail. I hope this cuda driver isnt dependant on nvidia cards. By the way, when I open up v.3 and select the volumetric sculpting option from the bottom left, the app crashes.
  5. Ok, the second thing I did was download the toolkit and installed it and 3DC ran. But first I tried to install the CUDA 2.1 Driver beta and it gives me the error "The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit". I tried the CUDA 2.0 driver too and got the same error. Any idea?
  6. I try to open up the version 3 alpha and it gives me an error message saying "This application failed to start because cudart.dll was not found" anybody know what the problem might be? Thanks for any help.
  7. Hi everyone. I'm new to 3D-Coat but I've been playing around with the software for a few days and theres a couple of things that I was curious about. Well first let me point out that its absolutely great for sculpting details on models. And its got some really nice mapping effects also. But what I want to know is,... 1.) Say I loaded a model into the application and divided it into millions of poly's. Is there any way to export the actual finished multi million poly mesh instead of just the topology for it? (Thats imperative for what I'm doing) 2.) I also found an option in the View menu that lets me view the mesh with an environmental reflection like its metal. Is there any way to export that map out of 3D-Coat? Thats a good one. 3.) whats the difference between the (DX) and (GL) versions. I mean I know its DirectX and OpenGL, but do these 2 versions serve different purposes? Last, will version 3 have more detailed volumetric detailing? Anyways, thanks for any questions you can answer. 3D-Coat is an excellent tool and I'm having a lot of fun with it. And it beats the heck out of ZBrush and Mudbox in my opinion.
