Sculpting

The Sculpt Room in 3DCoat is a primary workspace dedicated to digital sculpting. It functions like a virtual block of clay, allowing artists to create, modify, and detail organic or hard-surface 3D models using a vast array of brushes and deformation tools.
The workspace is divided into two core modes:

1. Voxel Mode
Definition: Acts like volumetric digital clay. It calculates the 3D space as a grid of cubes (voxels) rather than a hollow polygonal shell.
Primary Use: Ideal for initial blocking, sketching, and silhouette building. You can freely pull, stretch, merge, and cut geometry without worrying about polygon stretching or tearing.
2. Surface Mode
Definition: Operates using a traditional polygonal mesh system (vertices, edges, and faces).
Primary Use: Best for adding fine, micro-level details (pores, wrinkles, surface scratches) where you want to manipulate specific local areas of geometry.
