  1. Hi,

It's been a while since I picked up 3d Coat last, and am having an issue I don't remember having previously regarding exporting meshes. What is happening all the time is that the meshes are being triangulated for some reasom. I've been quadrangulating a voxel mesh to export. It seems to quadrangulate fine as all I can see are quads once it drops me into the retopo or paint view. Yet when I export it and reimport it either in any program, even 3d coat again (I'm testing with Silo and modo), it has been triangulated. However, if I start a new session of 3d coat with one of the default meshes and export it- it is fine- It loads into other programs still only in quads. I don't know why this is happening.

Any ideas? I'm hopefully only doing something silly or missing a step.

    thanks

  2. Please describe situation better:

    1) Does release version runs fine?

    2) Does all - DX, GL, DX64, GL64 of ALPHA crash?

    3) What is your OS/Video card/VRAM/RAM/CPU ?

    Hi-

    1) Yes, normal release version works fine (I assume you mean the version I paid for)

    2) Yes, all the ones that i try crash- DX and GL. I can't try the 64 versions as I'm on 32bit.

    3)

XP Professional Service Pack 2 (32 bit)

    NVidia GeForce 8800 GT

    CPU: Intel Quad Core 2 Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

    RAM = 3.00Gb

VRAM= I have it set at 4096, on the first partition on a seperate physical drive from the OS. Not sure if it's set up correctly. Both physical drives have a few partitions on them which I did when installed the OS.

    Thanks

PS I sent one of those bug report things last night too with my email address so you know it's me in case it helps..

  3. That's a shame. It crashes before it even starts. Tried using on both GL and DX, the splash screen logo comes up and it looks like it's trying to load the interface but then it changes its mind and crashes. I've searched this thread quickly and think it maybe because I need to be already a registered user of the full normal version first. Also in the error report blurb it says 'Can't load license.dat', or something to that effect.

  4. Whatever he changes the name to- if he does so at all, I hope he keeps the logo of the shiny gloopy green paint smothering the black sphere as I like it. I like the colour scheme too, though on forums I generally prefer a dark background as opposed to a white one, especially as I spend a lot of time looking at them after it's no longer daytime so it would be easier on the eyes.

  5. Okay I'll try (not much convincing needed ;) ). Actually I was going to wait until my demo of the normal version expired as I thought the alpha had a time limit but I've just seen in a previous post that it doesn't anymore. But also seeing as this morning while eating breakfast I decided I'm going to buy it anyway, I think I will give the alpha a whirl right now..

I've never even tried zbrush or mudbox as I've been in no-mans land for the past three years, so I can't wait to try this voxel sculpting out. I'll stop wasting time typing now

    Thanks :brush:
