  1. There are now cheaper alternatives to TechSmiths Camtasia Studio that let you record audio as well as video. SnagIt latest version captures video, so for $49 you can create tutorials. Also, Corel Video Studio Pro X5 has a new screen capture feature built in as well. This option you get screen capture along with a full feature video editor at one low price. Happy tutorial making... :)

  2. I'm getting a little confused here. I read in this forum that Javis Jones was the "Official" 3D Coat Video Training provider.

When I go on Kurv Studios site they say they are the "Official" Video Training provider.

    About the 'Official Guide' Series

KURV studios has worked very closely with the Pilgway team and created this advanced title from L.J. Bamforth. This title shows off 3D-Coat's advanced retopology tools as well as the UV unwrapping tools as well. Our Official Guide series is the best that Pilgway has to offer for 3D-Coat training.

You want the best training on 3D Coat, this is it! The Official Guide Series from L.J. Bamforth and KURV studios. Why waist your time with anything else?

What gives here? Are there more than one "Official" provider? And is Kurv Studios really partnering with Pilgway to produce video tutorials?

  3. I love using Camtasia's baby brother Jing. At least it's what I'm gonna use till I buy Camtasia.

I was just on the TechSMITH site and I couldn't figure out why someone would want to use Jing and then import into Camtasia Studio when they can just use Camtasia to record in the beginning? I can't think of any advantage to use Jing over Camtasia can you? From looking over the demo videos it appears that Jing would be great for creating short video tutorials of 5 minutes or less and at FREE its a no brainer for adding to your toolbox.

BTW, there is a newly release CamStudio 2.6 Beta if anyone is interested in testing it out.

  4. I was kind of laughing about that on Twitter. I came across that zbrush thread and started reading, before I knew it it looked like a 3DC flame war was starting (I have not posted in that thread). I remembered the same thing happening on the NewTek forum and realized it was started by the same person.

Its probably better to just post an image made in 3D Coat then spend the time on words. A picture speaks a thousand words...

  5. I wanted to place a copy of 3D Coat from the Windows Program Menu to the Desktop. I clicked on it in the Program Menu and dragged it onto the desktop. That worked OK but now I don't have a copy in the Program Menu anymore. How do I get it back into the Program Menu once its been removed? Thanks...
