  1. hear is how i do all my poly modeling i use blender  (I hate auto desk the overcharge and are a monopoly  no one who is disabled can afford there stuff)

i urge you to support blender the make life so much easier  3d coat is great too and well priced compared to other software (i can afford it ) now try matching that autodesk

  2. cooling steam exhaust ports added

also you can see the two water tanks the central  fusion reactor uses to get the hydrogen  after fusing the hot plasma is fed into the turbine

were it's energy is converted to mechanical energy to drive the thrusters  the helium exhaust  from the fusion reaction is compressed and stored

for industrial use (and for balloons and airships) the Tesla coils are used to help ignite the fusion reaction and power the plasma cannon

  3. hear is my entry to the contest I have been using 3dcoat for several years i think it needs some improvement especially in the render area but its the best 3d software out there I am unconventional in that my models are all to complex to convert to polygons so i use the surface paint tool for texturing   if i win the contest i would like to see a system to add an optional custom floor mesh made of polygons that shadows could render on  to for compositing  with background images  i would also like to see the model not get moved relitave to the background image  when you press render  this makes compositing a nightmare

so hear is my thread    drop in and check out my progress

  4. Hey Everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else was having major problems with the new radial symmetry tool? Has anyone found a good way to use it on objects that aren't perfectly spherical or cylindrical? I'd really appreciate some help as I can NOT seem to figure it out? Thanks!

ok try pressing the resymytrize button in the voxel tree window  that looks like 2 arrows stuck together

interesting I was noticing the same thing a bit  best way to get it fixed is to submit a mantis report than email Andrew (the most awesome programmer I know)

  6. I think this has to do with how voxels work  they are essentially tiny cubes with a  smooth(or rather errm not so smooth-- cough! cough! ) skin over them  I don't know if this can be fixed  but you could try asking Andrew via email (he answers mine every time)  ask him if he could make the skin between the voxels smoother  see how it is beveled on the sides if it had more facets it might be more true to the original    I am just guessing however (which is what i do most of the time because it usually works)

  7. YAY!!! :)

how cool, however, would it be, if symmetry was unlimited and defined by our own equation! :)... ok I know that's just silly, right?

    As an example:
    Point 1: X, Y, Z
    Point 2: -X, Y, Z
    Point 3: X, Y(+60°), Z
    Point 4: -X, Y(-60°), Z
    Point 5: X, Y(+120°), Z
    Point 6: -X, Y(-120°), Z

would be like basically having 3 radially symmetric points, on one side of X, and a mirror of them on the other.

With this method, it is theoretically possible to have limitless versions of symmetry... including other types of symmetry.

man, is that too much to ask for? -

if you could create whatever symmetry you wanted?... translational, scale, rotation

seems more robust and flexible than just mirror and radial symmetries.

however, in lieu of that - i really hope that we get access to ALL symmetry at the same time... X, Y, Z + Axial... uh, which axis? how is it defined? can't wait to see.

lets give Andrew a little bit to get the new radial symmetry finished than we can start talking about this it seems link a great idea but very complicated  I would like to see it But I wouldn't count on it this year only cause Andrew just implemented radial symmetry (thanks in part to me ) a actually wanted him to do it your way  but it must be too hard or something
