  1. Hello.

When I am painting, sometimes I want to disable brush edge fade function.

For example, I want to elongate the stroke like in the picture attached.

I know this is opposite from what we usually want.

How to unfade the brush stroke in 3D-coat?

  2. Your brush works very well.

Thank you very much for your time.

I also found that no matter what value is used for zero level, 3D-coat does not make the circle as long as I save the texture as .png.

And if I use value 127 for zero level, .PSD works as expected.

Most of 3d programs consider 128 as zero level.

I am not sure why 3D-coat has adopted 127 as zero level.

Is it something to do with color profile?

If I convert a SRGB texture to adobe RGB, 128 becomes 127.

Anyway, most of my problems are solved.

    Thank you.

  3. The airbrush tool has solved the positive negative problem.

    Thank you for your help.

But the circle around the stroke still appears.

Although the circle disappears with the .png texture, I can not sculpt positive and negative direction with one stroke.

The .png texture only sculpts either positive or negative.

  4. Hi.

My positive and negative means like this in the attached image.

With one brush stroke, I want to move the surface to both positive and negative direction.

It is possible with the stamp stroke, but not possible with the regular strokes.

Jaggyness is not a problem here.

Sorry I forgot to try .png and airbrush thing.

    I will try them later.

  5. Thank you for you advice.

    1. I created the images in Photoshop.

And the color mode is RGB.

    I tried TGA32bit.

But the images are still cutout to circle and the surface all goes to positive direction.

I noticed that if I chose stamp stroke, the surface goes both negative and positive direction.

    The circle still appears though.

    2. No matter how big the depth value, it does not work.

    3. I can import rectangular textures.

But it is squashed and become circle.

I included the psd and tga images as a zip file.

    Thank you.

  6. Hello.

    I have three questions.

I am trying to create a pen.

    1. There is a circle around the pen.

How can I avoid this circle?

2, Zero level is mid gray for the height map.

I can inflate the surface but I can not dig a hole to the surface.

View > show displaced mesh is turned on for visualization purpose.

    3. Can I import a rectanguar texture to make a pen?

  7. I think this applink is very useful.

Mostly I am using this for modeling and UV.

If I can import/export a model without changing vertex order, that would be perfect.

Because our workflow does not allow changing vertex order.

  8. Hello.

I have recently found UV copy and paste function is super useful.

I can copy UVs from one object to another even if vertex order is different.

I am wondering, if it is possible to apply blend shape between objects with different vertex order by extending this function.

  9. Hello.

In surface mode, brushes use only one CPU and smooth does not smooth if brush radius is very large.

In retopo room, tools are also use only one CPU.

In Paint room, sometimes the smudge tool does not come back almost like freezing.

Does anyone have the same problem?

    V3.5.17 win cuda 64bit

    Nvidia 259.57

I am not sure if this is related, but I am working on a multi-UV model.

    Hello.

    I am sorry to bother.

But is this really only me?

    Or is this a bug?

You should take into account that Surface mode smoothing now uses Cuda which isn't listed on the Task Manager Performance.

OK.Thank you. I did not know much about cuda.

But smoothing is really slow even if use cuda and cuda smooth boost is on.

Of course you should be using an nVidia graphics card that supports Cuda (any from the last 4 years or so). The Cuda smoothing should make things faster, it's best when you crank the smoothing power over 100% though, try it at 400% and see what happens.

    Sorry again but.

I am using Nvidia card with CUDA.

    Is this proper behavior?

It is so slow in surface mode.

    Nvidia Quadro FX4800

    driver 259.57

    CUDA core 192

Nvidia control panel > CUDA-GPU > use all

I think this is quite a decent card.

  12. Thank you very much for your concern.

My office is at the 11nth floor of a building in Tokyo.

I was experimenting with 3.5.14D new features at that time.

Firstly it was a gentle shake but gradually it increased and turned to be a big shake I have never experienced.

I couldn't even stand without holding a desk.

Scaly part was that it lasted much longer than usual.

I seriously thought I was going to die.

However, I think Tokyo is OK.

Because I got to my house by foot and that took me more than 2 hours and did not see any building or house corrupted nor debris scattered around the street.

The structure of the buildings are surprisingly intact in Tokyo area.

But I myself can not even imagine how big the damage is around the epicenter and along the coast.

And we must be careful for a month.

Because I am still feeling aftershocks constantly even now.

Again thank you very much for your thoughts.
