i just tried it in new v 4.9.57 and renderman works again for now in this version, but there is no box for the alpha so it only renders with the environment map.

wow thanks for the info. I really like having a renderer that is functioning in 3dcoat. I wasn't aware they where working on a new dedicated one. thanks again. I really love the software.

renderman has not been fixed for a few builds now. i'm just wondering if you are no longer supporting it? I don't wish to waste my time with it if it is not being supported going forward.

I downloaded the 4.9.19 version and renderman23 still does not work. it hangs up and IT does not open???
i'm still using 4.9.05 version as renderman 23 works with this version.

yes I was using 22 and 22.5 in 3dcoat. it was just the builds after 4.9.05 that it stopped? I was starting to think I was only one with the problem. I think some of the render options changed in 3dcoat after 4.9.05. i'm sure he will get it going again soon!

yes i'm using it in 4.9.05. that's the version i'm using until I see it is fixed. thanks for posting your experience JanVollgod!

yes the license is in the correct place. it all is on C: it is working 4.9.05 but the other 2 latest releases it isn't working. is it working for others?

hi, I downloaded 4.9.14 and try to use renderman 23. it just sits there IT does not open. Then I see NOT RESPONDING. ? It works in 4.9.05. thank you

hi I downloaded renderman 23 and it works in version 4.9.05 but I can't get it to work in 4.9.12. the settings look like they are changed somewhat???

i'm wondering if the new release from yesterday of renderman 22.5 works before I download it. if it doesn't I don't want to waste my time. the last release 22 works fine on windows 10 with 3dcoat. thanks for input.

no it's not you...i'm getting further before the crash than before but it's still crashing with w10...they are still working on it. i'm excited for when it is working correctly...will make 3dcoat very very awesomer!!!

thanks i am currently using an i7 960 as well...1st gen with a NVidia geoforce gt 430 i think...so should i be using the cuda version..it has 96 cuda cores...i am kinda technical but don't really understand the cuda thing. i just need to know which version i should run on my system and the laptop I'm looking at is an i7 asus with NVidia geoforce 765 or similar...that would be good for this software yes??? what about ram...does 3dc utilize ram ...is there a max...I'm lookin at a 16 gig system...thanks again for your quick response. i think one of those exe files specified geoforce? it was dx and ogl...cuda. yes i know how to make a desktop but thanks for your explanation. i guess it makes sense to not have 4 on there. it is a little confusing to me still. it seems the install should recognize your system specs and install the most suitalble version. but i'll start with those neat new user vid's making the mouse and experiment if i see a diff or not....if your using windows 8.1...have you used a touch screen with this. is it beneficial at all. I've read all these people ranting over the touch screen once you get use to it but these are surfers not 3d artists i think so I'm curious. i have like 4 wacoms...older
i think the cuda dx version is what i was playing around with last nite and no problems...i made a little sun face model in about 3 mins. fun...thanks again for any tips.

i go by preecher. i consider myself a digital artist. you all are if you are using this program imo. I've been delving into 3d for a few years now mainly as a hobby. i live in nashivlle tn,usa. born and raised in tn. i don't much like it here but my sis keeps me here. if i had a choice I'd probably move to western Canada...around bc but that will probably never happen. i am a spiritualist, a photographer, astronomer, avid gardener, some wood working...i also paint and draw that's really how it all started as a kid. i like to do a lot of things to keep my mind occupied and helps keep me out of trouble. i am in my 50's and have traveled extensively worldwide. i look forward to hopefully making a few good cyber friends and learning this program if i decide to purchase it.

i can't upgrade either. got my license to show in my account but per the instructions there is a download button for the last few versions but there is no upgrade button. i go to store and find an upgrade button which has a box that is greyed out but if i hit it 2 times it says it is in my cart but when i go to cart it says it's empty...no biggie i know you will get it to work soon...
i'll be back... thanks for all your hard work!!!
