Advanced Member PoopaScoop Posted April 28, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted April 28, 2010 Every time I read the micro vertex description, on the splash page, I get more & more confused. It doesn't actually say what it is actually does, just the technology behind it. At this stage I believe it's more important for an artist to know what it does then how it works. How it works should be kept to the user manual. Important Information that I would have like to know at this point:- -That Micro vertex displacement is designed around the creation of displacement and normal maps. -You paint directly onto a subdivide surface that is displaced by using a displacement map and then updated in real-time. - You can also deform the same object, under the sculpt tab, by sculpting on traditional polygons and have that update the same displacement map with the new details. - The high level details are projected onto a carapace (low polygon cage).
