Hi to all. Here is another problem in Modeling Room. Don´t know if it already got reported, but it still exists in 2026.1 (and will exist till the end of time) I use Ver. 2026.1 In Modeling Room when you select a part of the mesh in the UV Preview by rectangular select tool and then you click on Hide in the Selected Menu area, only the seams are hidden not the model part itself. By the way, the selection of the seams is only possible when you press the Shift key.  BIld_1 shows the model with the UV Preview. Bild_2 shows the selected area. Bild_3 shows the result after pressing Hide in the Selected Menu. --- The bigger problem is. When the model itself, in the 3D view area, is behind the UV Preview and you do a selection as described above, the parts from model in the 3D View laying behind the selection, is selected as well. So the model has to be moved out of the way behind the UV Preview area if you want to select something in the UV Preview area and not by accident select part of the model in the 3D View area as well. Bild_4 shows the model in the 3D View is behind the UV Preview Area Bild_5 Shows the effect after the seletion in the UV Preview Area and the Model in the 3D View area is shifted aside, so you can see that additional areas of the model got selected. The selected area was the same area as in Bild_2. You can also see in the UV Preview, that additional areas in the UV set got selected. This is another problem existing for the last 3 years and nobody is taking care of. Another frustrated user of 3DCoat. Best regards Walter

Is this reply related to your current issue ? 3DCoat gets its color information from your monitor's display color settings. As you know, in Photoshop, we can choose from a variety of color settings. However, this is not the case in 3D Coat. If you set your monitor's color settings to sRGB, the same as in Photoshop, it will be fixed in 3D Coat. In Reality Scan, had you selected 16-bit and HDR images at export settings ? If yes, try turning it off selecting No tone mapping.   Try also ACES tone mapping

What are your snapping settings set to? Here's a GIF example of what I mean:

Doesn't work at all, results are even worse. Run brush along projection with higher position sampling kinda works(not always, it often makes weird hooks on the end of the curve), but Brush along curve absolutely not.

I figured it out; it's because 3D-Coat uses the device's color profile (instead of its own), so if that profile is wrong, the issue happens. The solution is to, inside of Photoshop, go under Edit > Assign Profile and select the incorrect profile your laptop was using, then when done with doing final touch-ups to the texture in PS simply export it and PS will convert it to a sRGB making it look correct in Sketchfab. To prevent this from happening again in the future, make sure the device's color profile is correct before texturing.

Hi, in the 3D Coat Texture 2025.17 version the AO calculation gives very strange results, and in my opinion incorrect, compared to the 2024.32 version I attach the screenshot with the differences. Thanks for any suggestions or addressing this bug Giobianco

Hi, with 3D Coat Texture version 2025.17 I have problems when I try to open new files, when I click on "Paint UV Mapped Mesh (Per-Pixel)" and click on the folder icon to open a file, nothing opens (the Windows window with the directories does not appear) but the selection menu simply disappears... and to be able to load an FBX or OBI model I have to go to the menu / file / import / model for Per Pixel Painting. Thanks for any suggestions or addressing this bug   Giobianco

Ok, so in the latest version of Reality scan they have added the option to export vertex colors either in linear or in sRGB. I suppose that takes care of the problem even though it could be nice to have an option in 3D coat to gamma up or down.

When I cut with knife tool, the mesh result follow the silhouette and also snap to the underlying sculpt... what I am doing wrong ?
    • gbball
I've confirmed this and I agree that the resulting geo should also snap to the underlying sculpt.

Using this settings, I can't see any problem

Some issues with brush strokes - it's ok in freehand mode, but it's absolutely screwed up when using curves. Video is recorded in 3DC 2025, but it's the same thing with 2026 version.

Quote fragment from Wikipedia: "... executed client-side, by the website-user's computer via the user's web browser". In practice, it means no installation is needed, executes on any platform/OS, and users always get the latest build. The theoretical 3DCoat on the web could have a minimal set of essential/core features. Users access it through their web browsers to process their local assets. The question is, is there a need for such 3DCoat on the web, and what essential/core features should it have?

Hi It's been a while since I last posted here, but I have a concern regarding the Knife tool whilst retopologising. I'm not sure if there's an option I need to adjust, but is there any way of getting the Knife tool's cuts to influence the low poly mesh so it conforms to the reference mesh? In other words, like the Split Rings tool, when you add a loop, it makes the low poly mesh conform to the reference mesh by pushing the loop out and matching the curvature and silhouette. All I get with the Knife tool are the cuts, but the low poly mesh remains flat. Thanks

It really depends on what functionality will it have. That should work from within browser?
