Wow, it's been nearly a year. Decided to revisit 3Dcoat on Linux. Using Fedora 43 now and still the same error. I ended up manually changing the name of existing folders in /home/user/Documents/3DCoat/UserPrefs/SmartMaterials/ to start with capitals i.e fabric -> Fabric. Now I'm able to install new smart materials via "Install Extensions" without errors. No idea if there will be any consequences for this change. However, I've discovered that mouse wheel scroll doesn't work. Always something  In case this helps people using other distros, I've had good results running Ubuntu 24.04 inside Distrobox. Just have to install some missing libraries within the Distrobox container.   #install fuse sudo apt install fuse #install missing libraries sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y libgtk2.0-0 libcanberra-gtk-module libpackagekit-glib2-18 libnss3 libcanberra-gtk3-module packagekit-gtk3-module Then have to download fbx-sdk and install it inside the container as well. Everything seems to work, including the app-link with Blender 5.0. Well, everything except the mouse scroll wheel. Tested on the Linux 2024 and 2026 builds. No download links available for 2025.

Hi,  quick question - is anyone in here using current lineup of XP Pen tablets with 3D-Coat and could share their experience? Currently, I'm using Huion Kamvas 16 gen 3 and it's perfectly fine, but I'm thinking about jumping to 19 inch screen in 4k res, so I'm considering XP Pen Artist Pro 19 gen 2. Normally, I would go with Huion Kamvas Pro 19, but the price difference is a bit high because of the touch feature on Huion, which I don't care about and won't use that feature.   So, any info about XP Pen performance with 3D-Coat and other 3d apps? Does the pen pressure, tilt and all the buttons work correctly in 3D-Coat, etc.?

Are there any other linux builds posted somewhere other than the latest 2026? My license is available until mid 2025, but the only download options I see are for February 2024 or your link for 2026.01. Is there anything else in between?

Okay, I'll have to wait for the 2026 version then. In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to erase and smooth the airbrushes then.

To replicate it, just use the airbrush and make it really large and spray the entire sphere at the main viewport screenspace for a few seconds. The brush should be bigger than the mesh so it can wrap around without you moving the camera, like you are trying to airbrush both sides of the sphere so it is 1 consistent paint coating. In substance, Tri-planar projection will allow you to wrap airbrush from front, side and back side so that you have an even spray so theres no gaps or seams. Just wondering if there is something like that in 3d coat too, because I can't find it and it seems really useful.  How do you airbrush or paint a round object all the way around and have it smooth, consistent and seamless then without extra brush strokes? 

Just wondering then, so there's no way to just paint on the UV texture around / outside of the seams, is there? I feel like that would solve a lot of issues since this should be a really easy fix normally. Can you ask them to let that be a possibility, or is that just how the software works?

Sorry, I can't replicate this issue on 2026.1

I just opened the file you sent and it was still jaggy looking and bleeding involved. I even exported it out of 3d coat to blender to see if it actually changed, but the results were still poor. I didn't do anything else besides open the file. See below for screenshots inside 3dCoat and exported to Blender to view. 3D coat textura 2025.17 so the latest publically available one.
