      It doesn't matter if you keep it in Surface mode or Voxel mode, it is still gonna be a triangulated mesh and you will need to do retopo, or bring it into Zbrush, duplicate the subtool, Zremesh it and Project details or something similar.

      Hey there! The reason I'd want to keep it in surface mode is to preserve the topology: As soon as something becomes voxels I have to retopo it before it can be used. As such I try to keep things surface mode as much as possible unless I'm sculpting details or already have a retopo ready. If there was a way to expose whether or not the new meshes get booleaned when applying it would allow me to preserve the mesh topo in the sculpt

      I also tried updating from there, but when it takes me to the "Versions manager" page I click "Install the 3DCoat 2025.17. and a green progress bar appears, and the process stalls at about 60-70% of the way, so I cancel it and DL the newest version from the forums and install manually. :/

      in 3dcoat 2025.15 M1pro, when exporting mesh a d choosing the filename/loactiohn of the mesh to save. SOMetimes... the regular useless finder opens up, other times the finder select path verison. thI am really tired of the bugs in 3dcoat for Mac. Plz do you even test your software in QA? I have rarely seen an app in this state, I am disappointed. plz make macOS versions of the fixes 2025.15 +    I just want to use the software and not report bugs. Can I download 2024 version or something more stable?

      Surface (mode) Booleans are less reliable than Voxel mode Booleans because of self-intersection issues and such. Try to switch your Sculpt Tree layer to Voxel Mode first. If you need to switch it Surface mode thereafter, you can.

      Is it possible to link/reference resources in 3DCoat without duplicating them? I'll try to explain what I mean.  In software like Blender and ZBrush, you're able to use brush alphas and other resources without duplicating the files in your system's directory. For example, in ZBrush, I can open the Lightbox, go to Alpha, navigate to any folder I want, pick an alpha, and use it. The location doesn't matter, and the file remains exactly where it was in my directory. The same can be seen in Blender: in Sculpt Mode, I can add a Texture to my brush, open the File View, select my alpha, and use it on my brush without another file being created on my computer. In 3DCoat, I know that in the Brushes, Stencils, and Strips panels, have the option to "Add Existing Folder" in each panel. However, I've found that this duplicates all of the files in the original folder, with new copies in 3DCoat's UserPrefs directory. I don't like this because it means that to work with my existing alphas and other resources, I need to store a copy for every other piece of software, and then store a second copy for 3DCoat only. With high resolution, uncompressed images, this can lead to gigabytes of wasted space. Is there a way for 3DCoat to use my original alphas and other resources without duplicating the files into UserPrefs?

      Is there a way to disable boolean when using tools that append new meshes like spline / import? Fairly simple test cases fail to boolean when using repeated shapes

      Tried version 2025.16 and the problem with folders is still there - can't rename created folder, it's still named 0. New folders correctly, though, so I'll move alphas to the new folder, I guess. Oh, it was mentioned in another thread, but I'll bring it here - Don't use sticky keys option in Preferences doesn't work, 3DC is using Sticky keys anyway.

      I was using a proxy recently and noticed no issues. Can you test on a sample object from the splash screen, to try and narrow it down to either the current mesh having some kind of corruption issue or if this is a recurring problem no matter what object is used?

      2. Change the radius of a curve point. Left-click and drag: hover your cursor over the specific curve point, change the Radius. Left-click and drag to change the radius of that individual point. The radius value will be reflected by the current brush size/pen radius setting.   3. yes, the interpolation only is active on curved tangent of points
