Hole fill. Currently the holes are filled with quads and triangles. Can the hole be filled with quad only?

I like the Collar option. Could this also have an option of being 2 sided? As it works now it only has the collar on the flat surface, being a boundary loop we should have the option to have it also applied to the inside curved surface. That being said also have an option to determine the off-set distance of the Collar?

Version 2026.25 - updater still overwrites custom shaders. Shaders created with "default" or mat cap are still in my custom tabs, but everything else is gone. Weird thing is, when I go to 3DCoat shader directory, most shaders are still there, but 3DC doesn't see them.

Please write here.

https://calielfernando.gumroad.com/l/ColorHarmony Color Harmony for 3D-Coat A Professional Color Workflow for Hand-Painted Textures Build better palettes. Control value and hue. Paint with greater confidence. Color Harmony is a floating color-theory and palette-generation tool for 3D-Coat, designed to streamline color selection and help artists create more cohesive, expressive textures directly in their painting workflow. Sample a color from your model using the V key to generate five classic color harmonies, explore material-specific value ramps, and create chromatic neutrals without leaving the 3D-Coat viewport. Built around perceptual color models, customizable hue shifting, and practical painting presets, Color Harmony brings essential color tools together in one convenient workspace. Key Features 1. Five Color Harmony Systems Generate complementary, split-complementary, analogous, triadic, and tetradic palettes from your selected color. Explore alternative color relationships and build cohesive palettes for characters, props, environments, and stylized assets. 2. Seamless Viewport Workflow Sample colors directly from your model and apply any generated swatch to your active painting color with a single click. Keep your palette accessible while rotating your model, sampling additional colors, and painting. 3. Perceptual Value Ramps Generate structured light-to-shadow variations using Oklab or CIELAB lightness to help create more consistent perceived value steps. Optional hue shifting introduces warmer highlights and cooler shadows, or the reverse, according to your artistic direction. 4. Four Material-Oriented Presets Explore different value and color distributions with presets tailored to common material types. Fabric: Soft tonal transitions suited to cloth, wood, and matte organic surfaces. Metal: Concentrated highlights, compressed midtones, and stronger value separation for stylized metallic surfaces. Crystal: High-chroma color variations and bright highlight accents for gems and glass-inspired materials. Skin: Warm and cool tonal variations inspired by subsurface scattering and the natural color variation of skin. These presets provide artistic starting points rather than physically based material simulations. 5. Chromatic Neutrals Generate seven neutral and near-neutral color options using complementary color relationships. Adjust the Mix and Chroma controls to explore subtle color biases and create more nuanced alternatives to flat gray. 6. Two Color Harmony Engines Switch between two approaches to color relationships: Artistic RYB: A traditional red-yellow-blue color wheel designed around familiar pigment-based color relationships. Digital HSV: A hue-based color wheel suited to conventional digital color workflows and stylized graphics. 7. Adobe Swatch Export (.ACO) Export generated palettes as Adobe Color Swatch (.aco) files using dedicated export controls. Transfer your palettes to compatible applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and Procreate. Compatibility Operating System: Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). Host Application: 3D-Coat versions 2023, 2024, 2025, and compatible Print editions. Installation: Automated Windows installer with support for detecting standard and OneDrive-based installation directories. macOS and Linux are not currently supported. Included in the Download Color Harmony.py — English version of the addon. Harmonia de Cores.py — Portuguese version of the addon. Install_Color_Harmony.bat — Automated installer in English. Instalar_Harmonia.bat — Automated installer in Portuguese. Color Harmony for 3D-Coat - User Guide & Workflow Manual.pdf — Illustrated four-page user guide. README.txt and LEIAME.txt — Manual installation instructions in English and Portuguese. Quick Start Extract the downloaded ZIP archive. Run Install_Color_Harmony.bat on Windows. Launch 3D-Coat. Navigate to Addons → PenNav → Color Harmony. Optionally, assign a keyboard shortcut to open the palette more quickly. For manual installation or troubleshooting, consult the included README files. Designed for Artists Who Care About Color From hand-painted game assets and stylized characters to props, creatures, and environment textures, Color Harmony helps bring palette exploration, value planning, and color variation into a single, accessible painting workflow. Spend less time switching between color tools and more time developing your art.

Nice, worth adding are system/OS requirements.

The Normal Map coordinates are Global Space not Tangent Space   Try this settings   Tangent space is a local coordinate system attached to each vertex or point on a 3D surface (using the surface normal, tangent, and bitangent), allowing models to move, rotate, and deform. Global (or world) space is a fixed, universal coordinate system for the entire scene Core Differences Reference Frame: Tangent space moves and rotates dynamically with each polygon or vertex on an object. Global space stays completely fixed regardless of where individual models move or turn. Flexibility & Animation: Tangent space supports skeletal animation, mesh deformation, and moving objects. Global space breaks or distorts when objects rotate or animate. Reusability: Tangent-space details (such as normal maps) can be reused across different meshes or instances. Global-space details are tied strictly to specific world coordinates or static geometry. Memory & Storage: Tangent-space maps compress efficiently because the third vector can be mathematically reconstructed in the shader. Global-space maps require more memory and full storage of all three vector channels.

Can you share the model to take a look ?

Hi Carlosan, thank you for your response. I have replicated your node setup, but unfortunately it did not change much. Also changing from DirectX to OpenGL only changes the brightness of fragments a little bit.  Are there also other ways to make the normal maps work? Maybe I missed an export option in 3D Coat. Attached is a screenshot of the Blender scene and a comparison of the exported diffuse and the normal map, in case this is of any help. Thank you for your time!

CADQuader — Join the Testing Dear friends, We’re starting testing of our new application, CADQuader, and invite you to take part. CADQuader generates polygon meshes, primarily made up of quads, from parts imported in STEP format. It offers several meshing algorithms and lets you export the results in OBJ format. Download the application at cad2quads.xyz. After installation, CADQuader runs with full functionality for two months without a license. We welcome your feedback, bug reports, and suggestions for improvement, especially regarding the quality of the generated meshes. When reporting a problem, please include the application version and the meshing settings you used. If possible, attach a screenshot and the model file to help us reproduce and fix the issue. Thank you for helping us test CADQuader!

Hi It's expected that a normal map be non-color. Try changing it   Another situation is to set NM as DX or openGL You can switch using this node's connection

Hello, I'm having a persistent issue with normal maps when exporting FBX models from 3DCoat. My export workflow is automated: Decimate → Auto-UV Map → Export (converting voxels to mesh). As shown in the attached screenshot, both arch models are identical and have no textures applied. The only difference is that the model on the right has the exported normal map enabled. This causes strange artifacts and unwanted fragments to appear in Blender. All other exported textures work perfectly fine. When comparing UV coordinates, the diffuse map and normal map look the same. The problem only occurs with normal maps, and I've been struggling with it for years across every model I export. Does anyone know what causes this issue and how to fix it? Is it a problem with 3DCoat's normal map export settings or with how Blender interprets the normal map? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Here is a download link to the exported FBX Model with all the textures: https://www.filemail.com/d/psjowoyjpcnqddy (link stays active for 7 days)  I am using Blender 5.2 and 3DCoat 2026.25NS.

Heads up, Linux flatpak build was updated to .25, right click on Node Editor works now.
