Erik Martinez Sanchez shared this info:  I also emailed with Affinity about why the PSD was not reloaded with external changes made in 3dcoat, and it appears to be a limitation of theirs:

Hi Go to the menu Edit > Preferences. Navigate to the Viewport tab (or search for "Vertical synchronization"). Check the box for "Vertical synchronization" to enable VSync.  This is beneficial for reducing the load on your GPU when working with high-polygon scenes

I'm running v 2025.15 on Windows 11.  I have an RTX 4070ti super and 128 gigs of ram. In the sculpt room I have a proxy mesh enabled.  Every single brush stroke I make causes 3D-Coat to max out 1 core of my CPU for 3-7 seconds and then it returns to normal.  During those 3-7 seconds I can't do anything.  I also notice if I navigate to another window - for example right now I'm typing this message - and I go back to 3D Coat and try to simply navigate the viewport, the CPU shoots up to 100% for several seconds and then it lets me navigate the viewport. This isn't a crazy big model, so I'm not sure what's gong on. Any ideas? Thanks, Paul

Yeah, I built flatpak of 3DCoat and sent to Sergii. Did not get any feedback from him yet, I  hope they will continue with flatpak version, not much work to do build it, plus you cover every linux distro with it and no more headache with dependencies.

Did you follow these steps, in the video? If you did and still don't see the applink addon in Blender 5.0, try adding 3DCoat & Blender to your EXCEPTIONS list in your Firewall and Anti-Virus. You may also want to check the User Account Control settings in Windows, because it would seem to be some kind of PERMISSIONS issue. Someone in the comments section complained that the Applink doesn't work because they haven't installed Blender, but are using a Blender Zip file to launch Blender and if that is the case with you also, I would try to install Blender. I am pretty sure 3DCoat cannot access Blender files through a Zip file, but perhaps a Pilgway developer can chime in about that.

https://www.cloudcompare.org/ CloudCompare is a 3D point cloud (and triangular mesh) processing software. It has been originally designed to perform comparison between two dense 3D points clouds (such as the ones acquired with a laser scanner) or between a point cloud and a triangular mesh. It relies on a specific octree structure dedicated to this task.  Afterwards, it has been extended to a more generic point cloud processing software, including many advanced algorithms (registration, resampling, color/normal/scalar fields handling, statistics computation, sensor management, interactive or automatic segmentation, display enhancement, etc.).

2025.15 Hello! A bit late but I wanted to say Thanks for repairing the smart Retopo Tool @Gorbatovsky and maybe others involved. I works now snappy, Glitch free in the right places. Very nice. Also I want to thank @carrots for the huge Python Updates and providing some information how to use and find new modules.
