After deleting the coloured faces, it allows me to remove the red seams. It's just strange it doesn't allow me to remove the red seams with faces there.

I think it is safe to drop a little teaser of what's coming. This and the GPU engine has been in development for several years, so it's a pretty big feature addition. Now, you have nodes for working with Sculpt Objects (geometry and voxels) and finally for Paint Objects. The big difference between 3DCoat and the competition is that you have nodes for BOTH Sculpting and Texture Painting, and it is integrated within the app. ZBrush doesn't have it, nor does Substance Painter. Yes, we know Substance Designer is available to those who are on a Substance subscription, but it's a different experience having the node completely integrated into your Painting application. Great. Thanks. Yeah, the UV Preview is showing broken up UVs. Is there no way of being able to delete them within 3DCoat? I'm still not quite sure how to use that Color Palette. I'm able to pick a colour, but it doesn't really do anything; none of the new polys are the same colour still. Although some added polys on the right side are staying the same colour. Since seeing the UV Preview, I've been able to combine some of the clusters together.

Windows Menu > Panels > UV Preview Every new island or poly w/seams make colors to change If needed, you can create your personal custom palette

I've asked this before, as I went and looked through all of my previous threads, though I'm still non-plussed. The reply I got was from Carlosan who linked a video. I think at the time I just dealt with the issue and couldn't be bothered going through the video due to how long it is. ^^; Apologies. However, going through that video now, to the part about adding Edge Loops and Mark Seams, I'm still not able to figure out how to remove random coloured polygons. They suddenly showed up after taking the mesh into Maya and then bringing it back into 3DCoat. And again, there are no UV islands; I've deleted them. But every new polygon I add now turns a different colour. But I've tried selecting Edge Loops and clicking, holding Ctrl and clicking, pressing Shift and clicking... I've tried Mark Seams and clicking, Clear Seams, Clear Clusters. And I've tried Join UV clusters. The line turns green, but it doesn't combine anything together. Also, is there a way of adding the UV Preview tab back into the Retopo Room? Going to the tab doesn't show any UVs anyway. Thanks

Hi When I have a bit more time, I'm going to look at setting up my own custom shortcuts in the retopology room. My question is: is it possible to export these setups to load in newer versions of 3DCoat? So if I uninstall/reinstall/install in future, they can be instantly loaded up without having to set them up again? Thanks

No thats another thing. This is just about the point colors. Now Reality scan can export the colors either in Linear or in sRGB. BEfore it was linear only so 3Dcoat would read it as linear and it would show dark. At the same time Houdini would read it as sRGB. Now I can export it as sRGB and open it directly in 3D coat and it will show correctly. However the same model in Houdini will be overbright but in Houdini that's an easy fix.

So broken this entire time that I thought it was in beta or not even made properly, I've never gotten hard surface autopo to work, also while we're on the topic, why do we have surface and voxel sharp edge detection with hard surface autopo but we can't do sharp line selection + bevel/chamfer in sculpting? This would improve hard surface sculpting by a long shot

the hard surface autopo is broken

Hi to all. Here is another problem in Modeling Room. Don´t know if it already got reported, but it still exists in 2026.1 (and will exist till the end of time) I use Ver. 2026.1 In Modeling Room when you select a part of the mesh in the UV Preview by rectangular select tool and then you click on Hide in the Selected Menu area, only the seams are hidden not the model part itself. By the way, the selection of the seams is only possible when you press the Shift key.  BIld_1 shows the model with the UV Preview. Bild_2 shows the selected area. Bild_3 shows the result after pressing Hide in the Selected Menu. --- The bigger problem is. When the model itself, in the 3D view area, is behind the UV Preview and you do a selection as described above, the parts from model in the 3D View laying behind the selection, is selected as well. So the model has to be moved out of the way behind the UV Preview area if you want to select something in the UV Preview area and not by accident select part of the model in the 3D View area as well. Bild_4 shows the model in the 3D View is behind the UV Preview Area Bild_5 Shows the effect after the seletion in the UV Preview Area and the Model in the 3D View area is shifted aside, so you can see that additional areas of the model got selected. The selected area was the same area as in Bild_2. You can also see in the UV Preview, that additional areas in the UV set got selected. This is another problem existing for the last 3 years and nobody is taking care of. Another frustrated user of 3DCoat. Best regards Walter

Ah-ha, okay. Yeah, that does do a better job. Thanks.

Confirmed For this type of task is much better to use Add/Split tool

Is this reply related to your current issue ? 3DCoat gets its color information from your monitor's display color settings. As you know, in Photoshop, we can choose from a variety of color settings. However, this is not the case in 3D Coat. If you set your monitor's color settings to sRGB, the same as in Photoshop, it will be fixed in 3D Coat. In Reality Scan, had you selected 16-bit and HDR images at export settings ? If yes, try turning it off selecting No tone mapping.   Try also ACES tone mapping

What are your snapping settings set to? Here's a GIF example of what I mean:
