Perhaps this could be a more low-level aspect to the UI, but the tech being used to render the UI can use some revision. If you go full screen, data input popups just wont render. The color picker in the Node Room is not stable yet, even after tweaking the extensions panel setup. Also, even with the current AA implementation there are artifacts on certain textures (high frequency patterns like fine plaster, fine leather, etc.)when looked at a certain distance, this makes texturing certain fine details more complicated and cumbersome, one must be zooming in and out to avoid the artifacts.  Regarding other UI elements, 3DC has many many tools, and when we invoke the tool panel via SPACE we get all the tools of the room/selection. This can be good when you just begin with 3DC, later on one has very specific workflows so seeing all the tools there is not necessary. I make heavy use of keyboard shortcuts but there is always good use for the tool panel, so I would like to suggest custom tool panels, where the user can select a subset of tools it needs easily accessible. This would also help with visibility, as the screen would not be covered by the popup window in fullsize beacuse fewer rows of tools would be in it. Having a few for the user to build, and be able to cycle them with mousewheel could really be useful. Also, there could be 3DCoat presets, as to not overwhelm newer users. One could also switch between them with tabs.

Some issues with Curves tool - trying to rotate whole curve and as a result I'm getting some weird twists. Tested in 2026.19, so I don't know how does it look in 2026.24, but probably the same. It works perfectly fine in 2025.17.

Bundled 10 hdri environments for quick use in 3D-Coat software. Simply download, unzip and install as extension.

Plz make the UI elements respond to touch gestures, so that we are able to smoothly scroll inside the panels/menus, with fingers.

1. Import the non inverted .psd (attached) using the + button in Brushes, chose ”Open Texture file”. This works well and the image appears in the Brushes panel. See attached image. 2. Using the same procedure, import the inverted .psd (attached). This causes the app to crash with a spinning ball. macOS apple silicon, reproduced in 3dc2026.24, even if the image below is older. I am not able to see the Stencil thumbnails in several directories in the filesystem, containing avif textures. The affected folders: ”Art” ”Dirt” ”Dust” ”Fabric” ”Ground” ”Leather” ”Misc” ”Patterns” ”Rust” ”Scratches” ”Smudges” ”Wood”. MacOS 15.8, apple silicon, 3dc2026.24. Folders containing tga files show up well in the stencils panel.

Yes notice how your stroke is on the blue mesh, like I want to, and like I was able to do on the rest of the body. But for me, when I carve on the hands, it does not carve on the hands, but rather somewhere behind the hands and the carving appears to be in a aligned to the viewport, or something. I have macOS if it matters. Video.

I'm not sure if I understood the issue correctly... here is my test.

See.

With "pick and act", it affects and carves into the blue ghosted mesh. I want to use it as foundation without carving into it. I previously used "don't pick don't act" successfully for the rest of the body.

yes, thanks to Carlosan I did this edit in mcubes.glsl few months ago and now it works as normal, without any extra highlights. But maybe manual editing config files is not the best way for newbies... I don't think adding a simple checkbox to enable/disable extra lighting somewhere in shader settings or Coat preferences would be a big problem?

Thanks!

Check this option Try changing this: Ghosted must be set to Pick & Act

I really don't get how I am supposed to enjoy this software when there are bugs all over the place.

With carve tool, I have previously drawn on the blue ghosted object and saved the file. Now when I opened it, and started drawing on the hands, it draws through! Why is 3dcoat so god damn inconsistent and full of bugs?  It feel like I am the god forsaken beta tester.  Intro.3b
