If you haven't seen the news lately, a group called ArtCraft has made copies of Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, and more in a language called Rust. They're free and open source. They're still a little rough around the edges but most of the features work as they should. They're also way smaller in file size, like 50-60mb, and they work on Windows, Mac, and linux.  They did the same with MS Office as well. https://getartcraft.com/apps

Oh man I haven't thought about that in like a decade. I thought it was long gone

The one picture you posted shows the UVW Texture showing an image in the node. But no image in the simple material or out material. Is that correct?

Thanks, me too. Another note: I tried ctrl + dragging an existing tga from the Stencils/Circles folder and that has the same result (not showing previews in nodes), so I believe the fact that I converted the avifs stencils to png does not affect this problem.

I get some bad bevels and seemingly destroyed geometry when I use cutoff tool with soft booleans (surface mode). Cool feature but even with many triangles it seems to still give bugs. I was following the tutorial https://youtu.be/25SoYFvF8oU?si=aGinr_O5USeCJC6x   Any more tutorials on the new texturing with nodes workflow? I tried it and it seems cool so far.

I don't remember this behavior in older 3DCoat versions. on v4 or 202x ? If you can remember the version is more easy for me to inform the issue to dev team, to release a future fix.

So, I will need to play with this options constantly because 3DC can't keep the symmetry side constantly? That wasn't the case back in the day, so I'm wondering why can't 3DCoat keep it consistent.

Hope you get the issue fixed. Works as expected in windows version.

Used the tool a lot before but now when I add points to the mesh, clicking doesnt create a polygon. If I add some polygons using other methods (like smart retopo) those polygons can be connected, however any points I put down are ignored and dont connect. Seems like there is an issue with the tool. For now have to do retopo in another program.

Thanks, I am also adding a note to the developers when reviewing the bug report: In my case, I dragged a png rust file that I created from your avif, because the stencil folders containing the avifs do not show in preview and cannot be used in viewport.  Perhaps this has something to do with the error in this tread, that is, missing Node  previews.

I found it in profile.

Is there a general page for older versions?

Did you use this option ?

Heres my the 3dcoat file. Rust_test.3b

I've worked with VMM on symmetrical objects for years and there was never an issue with symmetry plane/sides changes. Also, working with VMM off, but with "standard" symmetry on, I'm getting "Partial symmetry" notification... no matter if retopo mesh is connected or disconnected in the middle.

Virtual Mirror Mode (VMM) in 3DCoat's Retopo Room is a non-destructive workflow that lets you model on one side of a symmetry plane while showing a ghosted, real-time preview on the opposite side without actually generating real polygons yet. If you accidentally turn on Virtual Mirror Mode while real geometry already exists on both sides, it can visually double or obscure your meshes. Turn off VMM if you need to work with fully realized geometry on both halves.

No,

Virtual Mode is turned OFF ?
