Hello, Erik! Please try the navigation gestures in today's build, 3DCoat 2026.26 for macOS: https://pilgway.com/~sergyi/links-macOS.html I implemented the camera navigation gestures months ago in "StrokeTest", but a small bug rejected them in "3DCoat". When testing the build, I noticed issues with Smart/Node materials. This is due to the global changes for the upcoming 3DCoat 2027. Please pay attention to this issue in this build.

**What specific warning did Chrome show the designer—"unknown/rarely downloaded file," "dangerous file," or a network error—or did the download simply stop without any message? And was he able to download the installer completely using a different browser?**

Created a lofted T. When you add relax it will mark all seams and mirrored edges as sharp. End caps should have the quad fill but do not. T.step

Reset mirror on clamp. For some reason the Fillet was not being mirrored correctly. All cutouts now on both sides of part are equal. Clamp_Body.step

CADQuader 2026.14 — two-way Blender mesh bridge CADQuader now exchanges meshes with Blender in both directions. Click Send to Blender in CADQuader, or Send to CADQuader in Blender's CADQuader sidebar tab (N). The bridge sends all visible Mesh objects, regardless of selection, to the other application's already open window. It preserves polygons, placement, scale, UVs, normals and sharp edges. Sending again updates the received meshes while keeping other objects intact. Receiving in CADQuader supports Undo. The control mesh is transferred without applying modifiers. On return to CADQuader, multi-material objects split into one Mesh3D per material. Basic material properties and Base Color/Normal image textures are supported. This release also includes this week's mesh improvements: more even cells on profiles and caps, synchronized shared boundaries and fixes for multi-body meshing. Difficult regions get an additional Legacy recovery pass before triangle fallback, while successful regions are retained. GPU buffer cleanup when removing or rebuilding Mesh3D objects has also been fixed. The full trial now lasts 30 days from installation, including saving and export. Updates and reinstallation do not restart the trial. Viewing and mesh generation remain available after the trial ends. Install the full CADQuader 2026.14 release and Blender Add-on 1.1.0. Requires Blender 3.3+ with FBX import; tested in 3.3.1 and 4.5.3 LTS. Restart Blender after updating the add-on, and use Object Mode for transfers. Website and installer: https://cadquader.com/ Add-on and instructions: https://cadquader.com/#blender Feedback and example models are welcome.

So what input devices 3dcoat lists when you start it? As  this is  flatpak, you  need to set env varaible like this: flatpak override --user --env=COAT_MOUSE="exact name of varaible that 3dcoat lists" com.pilgway.coat

If I start the PC without having activated the tablet, 3DCoat walk with the mouse.  And if I plug the tablet with it and restart 3DCoat, I only have the tablet that works, but no more the mouse.

X11, I'm going to go to Wayland in December. I also noticed that Ctrl-Z was not working. And also, I don’t understand why FPS is limited to 60 ?

Using a mat cap to show issues with the tri's in the corner.

Thanks for the update. I'm having issues understanding the mirror option.  When I low mesh, I have quads. One side of the part has bad quads so I want to use the mirror the good side to the other side nothing. Perhaps Im missing how to use this. What other quad programs do is quad on one side and mirror that quad setup to the other side. Usually makes a better quad set-up. ( if part is symmetric and can be mirrored) We need to also should have the ability to flip the .step file to other axis not just he XY. That is the other mirror axis's X (YZ) and Y (XZ) we should have the ability to flip to those also. The manual on Mirror list to switch the OBJ this is confusing since we are working with a .step file. More clarification in the manual to what the mirror actually does.  The pinch clamp has decent quads in the corner on one side flip .step file over and quads are bad. The flat surface is full of triangles.

More details about the future of Unreal Engine 6 were revealed at Unreal Fest Tokyo 2026 building.     At the keynote of Unreal Fest Tokyo 2026 (November 3–4, 2026, Tokyo), Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney announced significant changes for Unreal Engine 6 (UE6): Blueprints (BP) and Actors will be removed (not merely deprecated) in UE6. This is a shift from the earlier plan announced at Unreal Fest Chicago / State of Unreal in June 2026, where they were expected to remain in early versions and later be deprecated. The C++ Gameplay Framework will also be abolished. Game logic will fully migrate to Verse + Scene Graph. C++ will continue to be used for core engine systems (rendering, physics, etc.), but not for the gameplay framework. Reasons given: higher development productivity, better content portability/interoperability across games and ecosystems, and stronger compatibility with AI-assisted development. Epic reported significant efficiency gains from internal Verse-based work. Tim Sweeney acknowledged it as a “painful change” and apologized to developers attached to Blueprints. He noted that Epic itself is experiencing the same pain (e.g., migrating Fortnite to Verse without service interruption). Migration support: AI-powered conversion tools are planned to help transition from Blueprints/C++ to Verse (exact form TBD). Projects already in development on UE5 can continue on the UE5 branch (including UE5.9 and future 5.x releases). UE6 Early Access remains targeted for the end of 2027. The event also features 30+ sessions covering games (Sega, ACE COMBAT 8, etc.), film, architecture, automotive, digital twins, UEFN, MetaHuman, and deep dives into Verse/Scene Graph. Bottom line: UE6 is moving to a Verse-centric programming model and will remove the traditional Actor / Blueprint / C++ Gameplay Framework.

Epic Games have just announced that the entire Quixel Megascans library is being made available for free on Fab. This isnt the first time it’s happened, they made them free at Fab’s launch then a few months later when they were migrated from Quixel to Fab. However if you missed that chance to snag 23,000+ AAA quality assets for free you can now join in the fun. Between November 5th and the 12th all of the Quixel assets will be made free on Fab.
