No separate version — one download, and it does not need OneDrive. That list is only the fallback order: the Documents folder Windows itself reports first, then %USERPROFILE%\Documents, and the OneDrive paths last. On a machine without OneDrive it stops at the first entry that actually holds 3D-Coat's data folder (a 3DCoat folder with UserPrefs inside). And inside 3D-Coat nothing is guessed at all — the extension asks 3D-Coat itself which data folder it uses. So if it works, nothing to do. If it doesn't, run Scripts > CoatMenu > Diagnostics and paste the extension and data lines here; those two say everything.

Do you have a version for non-onedrive users ?

I made a small extension for 3D-Coat 2025 (Windows) and I'd like to share it here. CoatMenu is inspired by MenuBelt, the menu plug-in I wrote for Krita earlier: you build your own menus out of 3D-Coat's own commands, the tools in your CustomTools panel and your scripts, then reach them from a frameless overlay that appears where your cursor is. Press the hotkey once: the menu appears and stays after you let the key go. Click an entry to run it - in a pie you can also press its digit - or click anywhere else / press Esc to close. A menu is the thing you build. List and Pie are only the two forms it can take. A menu opened as a list, and the same kind of menu as a radial pie - the wheel is centred on the cursor, so every slot is the same distance away: A list popped at the cursor, over a model: What it does At the cursor - a frameless, always-on-top overlay that never takes focus from 3D-Coat. Blender-style interaction - the menu stays after you release the key: Up/Down + Enter drive it, 1..9 fire the N-th entry, Esc steps back one level. Keys are 3D-Coat's business - each menu is its own entry in Scripts > CoatMenu; hover it and press END. CoatMenu only reads the hotkey file. Rows or a pie, per menu - a list hangs from the cursor, a pie is centred on it, its buttons round and evenly spaced, slots from straight up, clockwise. Expand and Position per row - a group's children stack in the slot or open a panel (Auto / Inline / Panel); a pie row can be pinned to a compass point. Multi-step rows - one row can fire several 3D-Coat commands in order, which is how primitives work; the bundled Add menu is built from that. Nested submenus - unfold on hover, with a grace timer (a short dwell in a pie); Promote turns one into a menu of its own. Three lists on a first run - QuickTool, Add and Shade (a pie); + New > Built-in lists adds Modeling, Tools, Common or Sculpt Ops. Editor - rows from 3D-Coat's own commands (900+), your CustomTools and your scripts; drag to reorder, Add all, undo/redo, import/export. Nothing ships that does nothing - every id is checked against the 3D-Coat you are running, so a command your build does not have is left out. Independent - no other extension is required and none of its code ships here: cExtensions shares one interpreter, so everything keeps its own namespace. Your menus are yours - an update only adds a menu that is missing; nothing in your file is renamed, reordered or dropped. Never touches your hotkeys file - Options_Hotkeys.xml is opened read-only; it is easy to corrupt and 3D-Coat itself has done it before. Diagnostics built in - the editor shows each menu's key and flags two sharing one; CoatMenu_Doctor writes a report to data/doctor.txt. The editor - every menu is a row on the left, 3D-Coat's own command catalog on the right: Install - the package file (two clicks, nothing to run) Download CoatMenu-<version>.3dcpack from the release page, then in 3D-Coat use Addons > Install Extension (older builds: File > Install extension). Windows > Panels > Extensions: find CoatMenu and tick Auto-Launch. That checkbox is 3D-Coat's own switch for it - a package can only add or replace files, so it cannot write that load line itself. Restart 3D-Coat once, then open Scripts > CoatMenu > Show CoatMenu. If you would rather run a file, the zip release has install.cmd, which does the same - and also prunes what an older version left behind and backs your lists up first. To take it back out: install.cmd --uninstall (your menus.json is kept beside the extension instead of being deleted). Binding a key: hover over the menu entry in Scripts > CoatMenu and press END, then press the combination you want. That is 3D-Coat's own way of assigning a hotkey (its hint text reads "'END' - Define Hotkey") and it writes the binding itself. Requirements: 3D-Coat 2025 on Windows. 3D-Coat ships the Python 3.11 and PySide6 it needs, so there is nothing else to install. It runs as a cExtension loaded from UserPrefs/Scripts/cExtensions/, and its overlay is a frameless Qt tooltip that pumps the Qt event loop once per frame - that is what keeps it inside 3D-Coat's process without stealing its focus or its keys. Nothing outside 3D-Coat's user folder is touched. Free, GPL-3.0, source and downloads: GitHub - VictoryLuode/3DCoat-CoatMenu: Custom pop-up action menus for 3D-Coat - build menus of commands, tools, presets and scripts, then reach them from a hotkey at the cursor (list or Blender-style pie). · GitHub Every entry of the bundled lists, both install routes and how it works are in the README on that page. If something does not work on your machine, please say so here - that is mostly why I am posting. Feedback and feature requests are welcome.

Hi Yes, v2026 support LWO2 & LWO3 file format 3DCoat supports the legacy LightWave LWO/LWO2 file format across virtually all standard and modern versions, including older legacy releases and modern versions like 3DCoat 2021 (LWO2) through 3DCoat 2026 (LWO2+LWO3)

Hello. after a long career doing graphics for other people, I am now retired, SO I dug out all my nostalgic software and started creating just to create and have fun in retirement. My last copy of Lightwave 3D is version 9.6.  My question is: Lightwave 9.6 uses the .LWO2 format, Will the newest version of 3D Coat work with that file format? If Not, What was the last version of 3D Coat that will work with LW9.6 and can I still buy that version from this site? Win 10 I7 with 16GB NVIDIA RTX 3050 6GB Thanks

What was your solution please?  I'm having the same problem.  I hit apply, or press enter and the curve goes from the usual to just ghosted in appearance. * Edit:  Brush along curve seems to cause this.  Disabling that as an option formed the curve fully.

coat 2026.22 Tiles as UVs MV Mode: Hello! I have made an interesting fbx. It starts at UDIM Tile 1004. 3 Polygons in Space of that Tile-UV: X3-4 ,Y0-1.  And I can happily say, that PPP importer supports gaps!  you can start at 1004 and do another tile on 1021. However something really strange happens if i import in MV mode. In 9 out of ten imports it gets falsely imported as 1001, but by chance it gets the correct tile1004.  It would be great if mv mode does interpret that part similarly to ppp mode.  All the best! tile1004.fbx

Hello everyone,  I recently switch to linux and decided to get back to 3DCoat as it is should in theory be available on this platform. I want to share my experience so far as it could be helpful for others. You can see a recap of my whole system below the post, I am using CachyOS with Hyprland-Noctalia (default cachyos installer);  I first installed the latest flatpak using shelly and it worked like a charm with my cintiq pressures working first try. Only issue are performances, I can't sculpt over 2 millions which is ridiculously low for my needs and tells me my graphic card / cpu are not being used properly. I couldn't find a way to change that due to my lack of knowledge in linux and options on 3DC side. Later, I tried to use the windows executable using Lutris. Everything went well and while it runs it like a game it wasn't difficult to move it on my cintiq and start sculpting. I tried to subdivide the default voxel sphere up to 60 millions until it started to lag while brushing some details. While the performance were way over the flatpak version my sensitivity didn't worked until I saw in the Wine issues reports that some fixes maybe available on the wine-staging runner. It fixed my pressure issue. I now have to version installed but only the .exe with Lutris+Wine-staging is usable so far. I am experiencing small UI glitch/blinking when sculpting but nothing preventing me to use it... so far. My goal is to make my Linux machine the only workstation I use at home for art creation, I am hoping on 3DCoat to be as reliable as Blender or Houdini when it comes to Linux app.  [System] OS: CachyOS Linux rolling n/a Arch: x86_64 Kernel: 7.2.4-1-cachyos Lutris Version: 0.5.22 Python Version: 3.14.7 (main, Aug 13 2026, 07:40:04) [GCC 16.2.1 20260810] Desktop: Hyprland Display Server: wayland [CPU] Model: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core Processor Physical cores: 16 Logical cores: 32 [Memory] RAM: 30.4 GB Swap: 30.4 GB [Graphics] Vendor: AMD OpenGL Renderer: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT (radeonsi, gfx1201, ACO, DRM 3.64, 7.2.4-1-cachyos) OpenGL Version: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 26.2.2-arch3.2 OpenGL Core: 4.6 (Core Profile) Mesa 26.2.2-arch3.2 OpenGL ES: OpenGL ES 3.2 Mesa 26.2.2-arch3.2 Vulkan Version: 1.4.357 Vulkan Drivers: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core Processor (RADV RAPHAEL_MENDOCINO) (1.4.354), AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT (RADV GFX1201) (1.4.354)

Nodes, When using the new SM material fills the entire layer. I have a object that has many parts but only 1 UV map containing them all. Even if I turn off the part in Painting object it gets a Image map painted on it. It would be nice to have the option to Refill material (old material) so that you can determine what part gets the SM Paint.

The curvature map still looks blurry. Need Legacy version 3D Coat, not NS.
