In the new version of 3Dcoat I still get this problem. It's a 100% failure rate. It only happens in the export decimation dialog box, not if I decimate in 3D coat and then export it. I can send a link to a file if I get a mail I can send it to.

I managed to built flatpak for 3Dcoat myself and now it should work on every distro that has flatpak installed. It was made from prebuilt 2015.15 version. Did not do thorough testing but it works, both Wayland and X11.  I can share this if devs are ok with this, or can send it to Sergii. I did test it on Ubuntu 25.10 and Ubuntu 24.04. Standard 3dcoat build will not start form neither of these. 

With stroke options like Stamp and Stamp Drag modes, you have no option to change the opacity or intensity of your brush with the Freeze tool. It also seems like Freeze exclusively uses the Alpha channels of brushes.

Hello, try this: The Stroke panel, specifies the way that your stroke behaves over the surface from mouse click to mouse release.  

Using the Freeze surface brush in either Voxel or Surface sculpting, is it possible to control the strength of the freeze with brush opacity, or is there any kind of depth option for freeze?  I often use the freeze brush to paint selections onto a mesh before using the Pose tool to extrude or pull details into the surface. Using Freeze allows me to use the brushes/brush alphas to get interesting effects. 

I just tested all my programs with my 3d mouse including 3dcoat and it all works suddenly?  Last night though, 3dcoat kept losing my 3d mouse and just zooming out and being non responsive, I restarted lots of times my pc and 3dcoat and cleared temp dir...  this just black box magic sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't? :/   Thanks though, I downloaded 3d connexion driver v10-9-3_b671.exe,  but now that it works with the latest driver v10.9.8.715 (right now anyways) I will hold off on trying to downgrade.

So, downgrading the 3d mouse driver makes your 3d mouse work with 3dcoat? I don't really want to downgrade my drivers I do more than just use 3d coat and then it might screw up another program. Do you use Blender/UE5/Rhino/Cascadeur/Poser/SubstancePainter with the downgraded 3d connexion driver and they all work along with 3dcoat?

I'm completely new to 3DCoat, and I just started messing around with the sculpting brushes. After some experimenting, I tried right-clicking on a brush and selecting "Restore Default" to switch it back to default settings, but it didn't work until I restarted the program. Is there a way around this? It's not the end of the world, but it would be nice to avoid if possible. Thanks!

I cannot use recent builds of 3DConnexion software and 3DCoat, either. It behaves very strangely, practically buggy and that has never been the case, until this year. It turns out that 3Dconnexion made some major changes to it's API/Drivers and it requires Pilgway developers to have to spend valuable time trying to fix what is broken on their side. I have to use an older driver (10.9.3.671) until Andrew (Co-Owner & Chief Developer) is able to investigate it. He is only working on 3DCoat development part time, now, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Other developers are still working full time developing the tools they are tasked with, but Andrew is the only one who can truly bugfix and deal with core applications issues like this. I reported this problem before, but I guess it was not high enough of a priority compared to some other issues and the Blender Applink.
