Hi all & Happy New Year Paint Room It would be great if the paint room got some additional love in the form of a few more paint tools - Easily add Transparency/Alpha to a painted/masked region not just object based and not to have to mess around with Layer 0 Colour Curves Gradient Tool - Needs better control with stop points at either end to better control the gradient region - this could be such a powerful tool especially as you can already add textures/depth images but needs better controls More Procedural noise types Paint Effects such as spray paint & directional blur Mask Generators & Builders- Based on axis, Leaks, Dripping etc - similar to those in Substance Painter UV Room UDIM creation Thanks

You can assign only one material by object, not faces Need to create double objects or assign externally by face on an external app  

I have a single object, a basic window, as a test. How do I create a glass material on one face and have eg wood on the other polygons? I have tried to follow the only 2 YT tutorials on creating glass, when I 'Get Back' from Blender, the glass area is just the default material originally created. Tried painting a B&W mask on another layer and used that as a clipping mask on Layer 0 - didn't work. Creating a transparency mask shouldn't be convoluted or complicated -  not these days. 3DC is seriously held back from being taken up a wider user base, like all those disgruntled SP users forced into a subscription, because of issues like this - which is a real shame because in lots of ways 3DC is a fantastic tool - but it does desperately need more love and attention in the paint room, especially as there could be a huge take up with Blender users via the applink. I'm following the instructions in this 3D Coat training video on the 3D Coat channel on Youtube. His discussion about using the On Plane feature with Points on Polygons starts at about 10:00 minutes into the video.  

If I set Type of Surface to "ZX - Plane" it works fine, but then I can't put in an offset from the plane.

Thanks for quick response Elemeno. I clicked Y and that set 1 to positive hit the x to zero out the base, still not working for me.

set your normal to -1 its inverted .

Points to Polygons not working with On Plane version 2024.31. It doesn't work when set to an Axis and Base is zeroed out. Add/Split works as expected with On Plane.    

I also just realized that this is only visible when using the light when in paint room. In render room this issue is gone. But it is a bit annoying to paint with this normal problem in paint room. Also, when I export back into Blender the normal is just fine, it seems.

Hi all and happy new year! I am having an issue with sending my model from Blender to 3D Coat via the App-Link plugin: There is a visible seam due to (I guess) incorrect normals in 3D Coat: When I click the "Z-Up coordinate system" on the import dialogue for App-Link in 3d-Coat the issue is gone but then my model is rotated by 90 degrees... Someone having the same problem? I am on Blender 4.3 (had the same issue on Blender 4.1) and 3D Coat 2024.31   PS: How to upload images? Could we have a feature where I can just copy pasta an image from the clipboard into this web-interface? Thanks. EDIT: Now works by just drag and dropping the file. I think I just had to be approved as this is my first message here

Hi, the update mesh uv is deprecated, getBack from PPpainting do the same function. Update Mesh uv > get back assign the new textures over the old UVset, it is not working as expected. 1- Send the model from Blender 2 3DC for PPPainting 2- File > Open in external app: this command send the new painted object to Blender as a new model (the original model could be used as backup) The path on the Export Panel will be C:\Users\<username>\Documents\3DC2Blender\ApplinkObjects 3- Switch to UV room and change UV islands of an already painted object, you don't need to unwrap to get the new UVset, when switch back to Paint Room 3DC automatically bake the previous painted textured to the new UVset distribution. 4- Repeat the same step: File > Open in external app or File > Export to Blender. It import a new model with the new UVs and Textures.  

Hi, Can anyone tell me how this option is to be used? I'm guessing this option is for if you've sent an object to 3DC and then alter its UV's and then Get Back? Is that right - do you export the object as well as the textures too? Messed around with it and don't seem to get it to work - am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance x
